Please see the code attached. Additionally, similar batch files work just fine on these 'other PC's; but, I think the problem is 'Printer Driver' Specific. @echo off rem "Printer Automation" rem "Mapping the network drive" cd \ net use v: /DELETE net use v: \\192.168.1.7\eSTUDIO rem "Creating TCP/IP port" cd \ cscript %windir%\system32\prnport.vbs -d -r IP_192.168.1.250 cscript %windir%\system32\prnport.vbs -a -r IP_192.168.1.250 -o raw -n 9100 -h 192.168.1.250 rem "Installing Printer's Driver" cscript %windir%\system32\prndrvr.vbs -a -m "TOSHIBA e-STUDIO6530CSeriesPCL6" -h "V:\\2015\\" -i "V:\\2015\\eS6cx2.inf" rem "Installing Printer" cscript %windir%\system32\prnmngr.vbs -a -p "SmallCopyToshibaPCL6" -m "TOSHIBA e-STUDIO6530CSeriesPCL6" -r "IP_192.168.1.250" rem "Deleting mapped drive" net use v: /DELETE Select all Open in new window One may wish to reference: http://www.experts-exchange.com/OS/Microsoft_Operating_Systems/MS_DOS/Q_27497717.html The batch file bombs out on line 14 . I have attempted this a number of ways but this was the most simple method I could use to simplify the diagnostic process. The files are located under c:\test and the https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/21594525/cscript-prndrvr-vbs-Win32-error-code-87-Windows-XP.html .inf file name is correct. I have attempted this with the full path to the .inf file name and it gives me the same error every time. Hi all, I'm having a spot of trouble trying to script printer installation under Windows 7 Professional, http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1446613 32bit edition. Ultimately I want to have a batch script where I can add all of the drivers for our common office printers (mainly Ricoh MFPs, some HP LaserJets and Lexmarks). I have all drivers (Ricoh PCL6 Driver for Universal Print, HP universal driver v5.0.3 and Lexmark universal driver v1.6) copied locally on the workstation (in "C:\Windows7PrinterDrivers") and this is part of my script: win32 error REM create portCscript %WINDIR%\System32\Printing_Admin_Scripts\en-US\Prnport.vbs -a -r IP_192.168.1.10 -h 192.168.1.10 REM install drivercscript %WINDIR%\System32\Printing_Admin_Scripts\en-US\Prndrvr.vbs -a -m "PCL6 Driver for Universal Print" -h c:\Windows7PrinterDrivers\x86\ricoh_universal_printer_PCL\32bit -i c:\Windows7PrinterDrivers\x86\ricoh_universal_printer_PCL\32bit\oemsetup.inf
However I fail at the installing the driver stage with the error message 'unable to add printer drive PCL6 Driver for Universal Print error code 5". Googling so far has turned up lots of people with error 87, however not win32 error code a single hit (for any printer driver) for error code 5. I get the same message (Win32 error code 5) if I try to install the Lexmark universal driver, but I get error code 87 for the HP Laserjet universal driver. If I manually add the printers and point to the appropriate directories then the drivers install with no issues, however setting up would be far easier and convenient via scripting (if I can get it to work). Any help or suggestions would be most appreicated. Thank you. From the above two statements it appears that the drivers are not installed and your users do not have rights to install them. As a test, on a machine that you have manually installed the drivers to, erase the printer object and then ru
