Since a few weeks I encounter from time to time system crash, the computer hangs: does not reacts on keyboard, screen freezes and only pressing the power atheros windows 10 drivers button for 30 seconds for a total power down helps. Ventilator fans are still spinning. Sometimes after a such restart on the diagnostic screen (before Windows starts up) the following message can be read: Resource conflict - PCI network controller in slot 3. Bus: 02; Device:02; Function: 00. This is the only PCI card my system has. There was no hardware added to the system, so the message is quite strange. Waiting a few minutes and re-starting it results in not receiving this message. Also helps demounting the intergrated wireless card, wait a second and mount it again. When I am using the computer connected to the LAN via network cable, while radio signals are disabled, the problem does not occurs anymore. When I disable in Windows the Atheros AR5004G Wireless Network Adapter, the problem does not occurs either. There are no messages in the Event Viewer. I am not using the Toshiba recovery OS, but Windows XP professional with SP2 installed by our system administrator. The same configuration did worked without problems for about 3 months. After I encountered the problem I tried to reinstall drivers and software for the wireless network card from the original Toshiba CD, but did not helped. I use the Atheros Client Utility version 3.1.2.19 Driver name AR5211, C:\Windows\system32\drivers\ar5211.sys, version 3.1.2.12. I have seen another user, peter

have the energy to learn... ive installed BT2 on my hdd, in a dualboot system with winXP my problem; my atheros ar5004g card is being detected http://www.backtrack-linux.org/forums/archive/index.php/t-4654.html as an ar5212 atheros card.... i expect that to be the "thing" that prevents my wireless card to function proberly under linux / BT2... cause im unable to run kismet / start-kismet-ng (ie, i do not recieve any AP's even though i know of 8 from windows) neither the iwlist ath0 scan returns anything... i can run the airmon-ng & airodump-ng without errors, but windows 10 i donot recieve any signal, from anyone, anything, on any frequency... so i think its a driver issue on my BT2 install... it is not the hardware... it is fully functional on windows, with the aircrack-ng-win release, with a special athxxxx driver (5211.inf,ar5211.sys) and another windows way through commview.dll and airserv-ng ported to windows, works just as great...... now u might ask urself, what drivers windows 10 does the windowfool wanna do on a linuxbox, when he has it working on windows... injection... i dont have a week to capture packets passively, i need to attack... and all the documentations and videos and all the experts and everything works under linux... ive been around the various guides concerning drivers... and i tried to update the madwifi-ng driver.... rmmod ath_XXX wlan etc. svn co http... bla bla bla i cant remember the exact stuff, i followed a step by step guide from aircrack-ng.org's wiki... but it ended up erroring at the end when i wanted to do the make / make install and gave my an error about 4 items being "unknown symbols" from the file called (i think) ath???.ko (.ko files being the actual driver, i dont know?) wich then led to a complete reinstall of the BT2... so im back again, and i need help! my next step would be trying to use the old madwifi-old... but it seems complicated, with patching and all... i hope some guru can push my foolish soul into the light of the linuxworld ;) -=Xploitz=-07-13-2007, 07:21 PMmy problem; my
