are files that contain step-by-step instructions that a computer follows to carry out a function. When you "double-click" an EXE file, your computer automatically executes these instructions designed by a software developer (eg. Microsoft) to run a program (eg. Often, viruses will be disguised as a benign EXE file (such as devcon.exe) and distributed through SPAM email or malicious websites, which can then infect your computer when executed (eg. when you double-click the EXE file). In addition, viruses can infect, replace, or corrupt existing EXE files, which can then lead to error messages when MSDN Disc 1801 or related programs are executed. I trieduninstalling the broken miniportsby right clicking and hitting uninstall but that wouldn't work, but windows 10 was able to uninstall them through a method found on spiceworks "55611- fix-broken wan-miniports" (Microsoft won't let me post links). The problem I'm having (since I don't have internet access due to these broken miniports) is reinstalling the wan miniports. It appears (although please let me know if devcon.exe windows 10 there is an easier way) that the only solution has been to reinstall them by using devcon.exe. I've tried downloading WDKontoanother computer (downloadedfromMicrosoft website) and then puttingall filesdownloaded onto a thumbdriveto get devcon.exe onto my broken computer. My computer installs WDK, but when I click on devcon.exe (for amd64), nothing happens. When I click on the x64 version, I receive an error message indicating that this version is not compatible with my computer. If I try to access devcon.exe from WinDbg "Open Executable" and the click on "devcon" that way, I receive the following error message below.Would be ever so grateful if anyone has ideas on how to solve this problem (missing the internet).Sony Vaio, Windows 7, 64-bit operating system.
