Comments: EventID.Net Some support forum posts suggest that this problem might be caused by corrupt user registry files (ntuser.dat). The preferred solution would be to restore this file from backup. Log on using a diferent account. run regedit (this edits the registry). Go to KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList there is a list of SIDs here. These security IDs are what links the user account to the profile. Each user account has a SID. Click on the SIDs and you will see a ProfileImagePath key in the right hand key. So all the desktop settings etc do not appear. This forces me to restart so that everything can be loaded. I have looked in the windows cannot load event logger and it comes up with the following: Quote: video help | post reply | read more The User Profile Service service failed the login, user profile cannot be loaded - and Subsequent missing folders and files and no search facility location: microsoft.com - date: April 7, 2009 I receive the same message, but I don't have any profiles to delete or profiles that I'vewillingly deleted. I've been using only one profile (Administrator). Right afterstarting usingthe system (Windows Vista Home Premium), I deactivated the predefined extra profile for visitors. After long, I decided to reactivate that profile for guests. I just used Control Panel\User Accounts\Add or remove user accounts, and rectivated the acccount. However, it was not included in the User Profile Settings (Control Panel\Computer\Properties\Advanced settings\Advanced\User profiles\Settings). I understand the system did not automatically create a profile for that account. Why?
