I've tried to install it three times and every time I got the same result. The software seems to be installing as I watch the green

bars advance to the end. Then I get this.....Error 1920. Service Maxtor Sync Service (Maxtor Sync Services) Failed To Start. Verify that you have Sufficient Privileges To Start System Services The drive is a Maxtor One Touch 4 Mini (250 GB) and my desktop is an HP running Windows XP Home with all service packs and updates installed. I've checked my user accounts and the only one listed is the owner and is marked administrator. I've been to the Maxtor website and their tech support is a joke! I'm wondering if there are remnants of the first installation screwing things up but have not found any. Perhaps I'm not looking in the right places. I Googled "Error 1920" and got a bunch of ads for registry clean up products. I ran my own Registry Mechanic and it didn't help. Any ideas??? « Last Edit: February 04, 2009, 04:41:10 AM by fordee9r » Logged daryy Guest Re: Maxtor Mini Won't Install « Reply #1 on: February 04, 2009, 04:43:29 AM » I make sure this good idea! Scroll down to Removable Storage. If it is listed in "startup type" column as "disabled", select it and in the Action menu open Properties. On the first tab, in the middle is "startup type". Change it to "automatic" and click "apply". Reboot. Logged fordee9rTopic StarterRookieThanked: 1 Re: Maxtor Mini Won't Install « Reply #3 on: February 04, 2009, 04:00:23 PM » Thanks! Need help with Vundo virus removal Started by Competent , Mar 20 2009 10:01 PM This topic is locked 11 replies to this topic #1 Competent Competent Members 28 posts OFFLINE Local time:11:50 AM Posted 20 March 2009 - 10:01 PM Hi - I believe that I have a version of the Vundo virus and cannot get rid of it. I have McAfee antivirus and Spybot. Spybot was not updated until recently. I have tried to use Spybot to remove but it keeps coming back. McAfee tries to block it but still persists. My computer is now running very slowly. I get messages from Spybot warning about Rundll32.exe being changed at startup. I run XP Home. Can someone more competent than me please interpret the logs and provide some next steps to remove this? Thank you very much!. (PS, I posted this incorrectly 2 min earlier elsewhere and have stopped that thread)Below are two logs: first is the hijackthis log then a partial view of the Spybot log. I also attached a registry change spybot notice in a word file.HIJACK THIS LOGLogfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2Scan saved at 10:18:52 PM, on 3/20/2009Platform: Windows XP SP3 (WinNT 5.01.2600)MSIE: Internet Explorer v7.00 (7.00.6000.16791)Boot mode: NormalRunning processes:C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exeC:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin\AppleMobileDeviceService.exeC:\W
