Search on GeoNet Submit to ArcGIS Ideas Problem: Cannot find the file C:\WINNT\system32\Unwise32.exe Description While uninstalling ArcExplorer-Java Edition 4.0.1, the following error is displayed: "Cannot find the file 'C:\WINNT\system32\Unwise32.exe' (or one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all required libraries are available." Cause The uninstall process automatically searches for this required executable file and will not properly finish unless it is present. If another program, such as ArcIMS 4.0.1, was recently uninstalled on the same machine that process may have removed this shared file. Solution or Workaround To complete the uninstall process, use the following step to replace the Unwise32.exe into the C:\WINNT\system32 directory:Download the Unwise32.exe file Unwise32.exe download.Extract the Unwise32.exe to C:\WINNT\System32 directory.Run the Uninstall ArcExplorer-Java Edition process, using the Add/Remove programs from the system's Control Panel.
