Windows 7: Can't print: just says "Error - Printing" in queue Page 1 of 2 1 2 > 09 Feb 2011 #1 parrotx34 Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit 9 posts Can't print: just says "Error - Printing" in queue This is a new windows 10 laptop, Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit, and I have installed drivers for both my HP Laserjet CP1215 and Canon MP150 (and re-installed quite a few times now too...). Whenever I try and print a document, from WordPad, Adobe Reader, Word, whatever, it just appears in the print queue with the Status as "Error - Printing". If I run the HP diagnostics utility, it can print test pages, no problem. So the windows 10 printer USB connection and actual printer are fine. They also work fine with other PCs. I've checked the print spooler is up and running in "Services". Exactly the same problem happens with both HP and Canon printers (both are USB). Anyone please help! Even after several restarts, the printer remains there. Is there a way to definitely delete the printer? windows-vista delete printer share|improve this question asked Jun 22 '11 at 14:16 Peter 9311915 migrated from serverfault.com Jun 22 '11 at 14:25 This question came from our site for system and network administrators. Read our FAQ next time please. –Chopper3 Jun 22 '11 at 14:25 Have you tried rebooting? (I'm being serious) –slhck Jun 22 '11 at 14:28 @Chopper3: Seeing as you can ask questions about 'Desktop PCs that you maintain in the workplace' on ServerFault (quote from the faq, which I did read), I thought it was an OK place to ask. Fair enough. –Peter Jun 22 '11 at 14:50 @slhck: yes, these printers have been in the list for months. As I mentioned in my question, I have rebooted (but I used the word 'restarts', sorry for the confusion). I've even tried deleting them several times. –Peter Jun 22 '11 at 14:51 @Peter Oh, I somehow must have missed that, my bad. But basically, these printers are not physically there anymore, right? –slhck Jun 22 '11 at 14:53 | show 1 more comment 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 3 down vote accepted Found the solution myself, by accident. Right-clicked on the printer, chose the option 'Cancel all documents', and the printer dissappeared. share|improve this answer answered Jun 23 '11 at 6:59 Peter 9311915 Cool, my problem is just same as yours and your hints solved my problem. About 7 printers disappeared. One of the printer still showing up. I opened Services.msc, stop the "Print Spooler" service, delete all documents at C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS. Restart "Print Spooler" service, then the last printer disappeared as well. –mjb Jul 23 '14 at 5:11 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discar
