What’s causing these errors? A: These errors are common, and unfortunately there’s no one cause— or solution. These errors arise when the client computer can’t successfully read the Sysvol portion of a Group Policy Object (GPO), which is where the gpt.ini file is stored. Most often, these errors occur because Windows’ networking stack doesn’t initialize in time for Group Policy processing to occur. In such cases, you’ll typically see that computer processing of Group Policy will fail, but then user processing of Group Policy will succeed. There are a couple of Microsoft articles that address these network timing problems, including “G

I'm getting application errors (Event ID 1030 and 1006, source Userenv) and it appears https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/22920-group-policy-issue-userenv-error-1030-and-1006 to only be for one user - ME! Group Policy processing aborted. Event ID 1030 reads: Windows cannot query for the list of Group Policy objects. Check the event log for possible messages previously logged by the policy engine that describes the reason for this. I looked up the ID's on EventID.net but found no real help there. Hoping the windows cannot spiceworks community can help. I've spent entirely too much time on this, but it's bugging me. Or you are the only user logging into this machine? windows cannot access By the sound of it, you "cloned" or "ghosted" this machine and changed it's name but did not change the Security Identifier (SID) of the machine. Now it seems to be completely confusing the AD -Computers portion. If this is the case: - Remove the machine from the Domain. - Delete the %machinename% from the AD (if still there) - Run an Application called "NEWSID", which is downloadable from here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb897418.aspx - Re-add to the domain. 0 Chipotle OP Jeremy5285 Sep 5, 2008 at 3:33 UTC Well I am the only one that logs into this machine. When I log in using a domain admin account there is no issue. I am logging on as a domain user. This workstation is less than 3 months old. Never been cloned. 0 Cayenne OP Jason5373 Sep 5, 2008 at 3:38 UTC Are you authenticating through an SBS? 0 Chipotle OP Jeremy5285 Sep 5, 2008 at 3:49 UTC Server 2003 DC 0 Mace OP ChristopherO Sep 10, 2008 at 6:45 UTC Does this happen when you log in with that user account to another workstation?
