looked at the application log on the windows client, but there was no bacula message. To figure it out, I started the bacula-fd.exe file by hand from a command prompt. It gave the full error message (I had a minor typo in bacula windows client download the bacula-fd.conf file.) I corrected the typo and was able to successfully start the service. Coincidentally, a

To: bacula-users AT lists.sourceforge DOT net Date: Mon, 08 Feb 2010 16:42:08 -0500 Hello, when I finally managed to get my bacula server working, I've installed win client and thought that everything will run fine. I've installed 2.4.4 bacula windows client (I know there is already 5.0.0, but it's not compatible with 2.4.4 server). As I tried to run the service it suddenly stopped and displayed warning with 1067 error. In events log I found: Bacula-fd error: 1063 at ../libwin32/service.cpp:174; StartServiceCtrlDispatcher failed. and it also said something like http://rivald.blogspot.com/2010/05/bacula-windows-client-and-error-1067.html that the service can't connect to network controller. I've tried to run it on Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 and in both cases there is the same problem. There are running plenty more services (mysql db, webserver...) on each of those machines and they are working with no problems. My bacula-fd.conf: FileDaemon { Name = sk0750n2-fd FDport = https://adsm.org/lists/html/Bacula-users/2010-02/msg00214.html 9102 WorkingDirectory = "C://Documents and Settings//All Users//Data aplikací//Bacula//Work" Pid Directory = "C://Documents and Settings//All Users//Data aplikací//Bacula//Work" Maximum Concurrent Jobs = 2 } Director { Name = sk0750n4-dir Password = "somepassword" } Director { Name = sk0750n2-mon Password = "someotherpassword" Monitor = yes } Messages { Name = Standard director = sk0750n4-dir = all, !skipped, !restored } Bacula 5.0.0 worked fine, but I can't use it in fact that it's not compatible with bacula 2.4.4 server. I want 2.4.4, although it's older version, because I've had big problems with getting bacula5-server work. ♦ ♦ | Report Content as Inappropriate ♦ ♦ Bacula problems in windows 7 64 bit I have been unable to get bacula 5.0.3 64 bit to run on a windows 7 desktop. I got the following error: A system error has occurred. System error 1067 has occurred. The process terminated unexpectedly. I saw the same problem on the internet, but there is no fix for it so I decided to use the 32 bit version. This version starts fine, but the VSS does not work properly. According to my research, the 32 bit version does not work on a 64 bit computer. Does anyone have any clue? I am using bacula dir and sd version 5.0.0 on server. The client is using version 5.0.3. However, there are some problems with the windows installers (both 32 bit and 64 bit) under many circumstances not acceptable config files. If you look at the bacula-fd.conf file, make sure there aren't any remaining sections that say something like Name = @monitor_name@. To fix this you'd have to fill in all the @variables with actual values and then restart the bacula-fd service.
