Could Not Start The Windows Firewall/internet Connection Sharing Error 5
· Posted 4 years ago Top Xhi Posts: 6298 This post has been reported. The first thing I would do is run sfc /scannow. Go to Start -> Run -> Type in: sfc /scannow (with a space after sfc) then click ok. let it run. You may need your Windows XP install disk. If that does not help then The web page "Error 2" when the internet connection sharing (ics) service on local computer started and then stopped starting the Windows Firewall service seems to have a pretty good answer. If you do not understand the instructions on this page come back and ask. We'll be here. Restart your computer then check windows firewall again. Paladin-X, Oct 12, 2005 #3 bryce81085 Thread Starter Joined: Oct 12, 2005 Messages: 5 to surveyranger
