Subject 'Re: Trade Me -- Sold windows live mail using Buy Now. Auction: 461486352 ATTRACTIVE PENGUIN HOT', Account: 'pop.clear.net.nz', Server: 'smtp.clear.net.nz', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '554 smtpin3.clear.net.nz', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 554, Error Number: 0x800CCC6F." Can anyone offer help in solving this problem for me - all my email Account settings have remained unchanged - I've checked them and they are exactly as per Telstra Clear's website. Typical advice I get from Googling this error is organisations with "fix it" type programs selling scan & fix it now programs which scan the registry etc & then come up with a Fix it Now button which I hesitate to buy and/or run when I know nothing about the authenticity of these programs - & can't even be sure that their program is the answer to my problem of not being able to send emails. Also I hesitate about running such programs for fear of screwing up the registry completely, which I understand can happen. Any advice would be appreciated - many thanks 30-03-2012,06:27 PM #2 Speedy Gonzales View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message Member Join Date Dec 2004 Location NZ Posts 44,416 Re: Vi

Using MS Office 2007 and Windows XP. Have checked all settings and Tiscali web-mail service works fine. Any ideas on how to solve?. Prior to this I was also experiencing outgoing mail being blocked by what I believe is a 'return receipt' stuck and won't let other mails be delivered. robinjarvis, Feb 12, 2009 #1 popowich EQ Forum Admin Staff Member Joined: Aug 12, 2008 Messages: 8,955 Likes Received: 117 Hello, If you still need help with the original issue please see this guide: http://www.emailquestions.com/microsoft-outlook/624-delete-stuck-read-receipt-microsoft-outlook.html What is the full error message that you are receiving? Is it possible that your computer has or recently had a virus or spambot installed? The generic description and resolution for error 0x800CCC6f is: CAUSE The senders' SMTP e-mail address that is configured in Outlook and Outlook Express (POP3 or IMAP client) does not match an address in the Exchange directory and cannot be validated by the Internet Mail Service. RESOLUTION This resolution assumes the Exchange Administrator wants to retain the anti-spoofing configuration on the Internet Mail Service. In Outlook Express, ensure the e-mail address entry (from the Tools menu, click Accounts , click the Mail tab, select the User name , click Properties , and then click the General tab) is the same SMTP e-mail address for the Exchange user located in the Exchange directory (under the Exchange user properties, E-mail addresses tab, SMTP address).Click to expand... In summary some things that would be good to check are: The full text of the error message Are you on the Tiscali network when trying to send email through their servers? Did your computer recently have a spam problem and get blocked? Is an antivirus or firewall program on your computer blocking outbound port 25 connections? You should be able to verify whether or not your email is being blocked by their servers for abuse/spam reason by calling the Tiscali technical support phone number at 0871 222 3311. Please let us know if the above information helped to solve your problem and what the specific problem/fix was so that other people with the same problem in the future can benefit from the answers. popowich, Feb 12, 2009 #2 (You must log in or sign up to reply here.
