All look like the same. Like this one: Error: Installation windows server 2008 of [Windows Process Activation Service] Configuration APIs failed. the server needs to be restarted to undo the changes. My server is running Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard Edition. UPDATE: I tried installing the prerequisites one by one using PowerShell. Now I have errors on RPC over Http proxy: Installation of [Web Server (IIS)] Tracing Failed, Attempt to install tracing failed with error code 0x80070643. Fatal error during installation. Searching about the error code doesn't tell me much more than something went wrong when trying to update windows. Installing Http Tracing alone also doesn't make any difference. windows-server-2008-r2 share|improve this question edited May 4 '10 at 12:41 asked May 4 '10 at 4:32 Parsa 4161615 add a comment| 5 Answers 5 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote accepted Reinstall (all assuming this is an empty server, which it should be for exchange). share|improve this answer answered May 4 '10 at 8:25 TomTom 42.3k430103 Well, this one can't be called troubleshooting, but would work for sure. Thanks for the answer anyway. I hope it wouldn't happen

I checked by doing localhost in browser as well as created a folder and tested with the link. It works fine. Now I wanted to add PHP extension in IIS7 which says I need to open IIS manager which I dont see either in "Administrative tool" of control panel or I can go from command prompt using "inetmgr" Please help and thanks in advance iis-7 share|improve this question asked Aug 20 '13 at 8:30 Rajan 111118 Well solved. I have not actually not checked "IIS Management Console" while installing roles from control panel > Administrative tools > Server Manager. I finally checked and added role "IIS Management console" and inetmgr works in run window. –Rajan Aug 25 '13 at 5:01 add a comment| 5 Answers 5 active oldest votes up vote 10 down vote Had the same problem and solved: In Server Manager (open from Administrative Tools), expand Roles, click on Web Server. Then scroll down to section 'Role Services' and click Add Role Service. From there you can click the Management Tools section. Only the Console is needed. share|improve this answer answered Sep 18 '13 at 9:34 Cameron Castillo 96331938 add a comment| up vote 0 down vote Just Write inetmgr in Run window it will showup.. or u need to add / install using Turn on Windows features in Add and Remove Programs Complete Steps to Install and View IIS is here Link!! share|improve this answer answered Aug 20 '13 at 8:34 coolprarun 5651721 Dont have inetmgr in run window.
