It will log all the boot messages to the ntbootlog.txt file. The log is stored in the %SYSTEMROOT% directory (normally C:\Windows folder). After you have tried booting and Windows has crashed, you should be able to go back with your Live Linux and look at that file to see what is last action before the crash. Take a look at this link for a bit more help. share|improve this answer answered Sep 23 '11 at 21:01 Sanjay Sheth 704511 It doesn't log the BSOD, you'll see the latest driver it

It's also known as a STOP error or as a BugCheck Code. It is a hardware error by definition - but this doesn't mean that it's caused by faulty hardware. Viruses, corrupt drivers, and even poorly written programs can cause it.Here's an example of the screen with some notations on what to look for: Finally, a note on sh

I tried to do a system restore to a late October date but after doing it I got a message that no changes were made. After that I did not try to do a restore to another earlier date (please let me know if I should).I got the BSOD again today. I took windows xp another screenshot of the log and also got additional technical information. It doesn't look like I have an option to attach a file so I'll paste the 11/4 and 11/9 information here.11/4:Error signature:BCCode: 1000008e BCP1: C0000005 BCP2: BF952C39 BCP3: A88F9C00 BCP4: 00000000 OSVer: 5_1_2600 SP: 3_0 Product: 768_1I did not grab the technical information.11/9:Error signature:BCCode: 1000008e BCP1: C0000005 BCP2: BF8124D9 windows xp bsod BCP3: A82209CC BCP4: 00000000 OSVer: 5_1_2600 SP: 3_0 Product: 768_1Technical information:The following files will be included in this error report:C:\DOCUME~1\Yenna\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERdbec.dir00\Mini110909-01.dmpC:\DOCUME~1\Yenna\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERdbec.dir00\sysdata.xmlThank you again for reading!YarheadNewbie SurferPosts : 8Joined : 2009-09-17Operating System : XP Home Re: Windows XP: Blue Screen- I have Error LogsbyNazzgull on Tue 10 Nov 2009, 10:07 amHi,Blue Screen of Dead could be caused by corrupted Hard Disc or some other component of your computer.
