After installing updates my computer continuously windows xp fatal error blue screen restarts. I get the Windows XP Home Edition screen, then black and a blue flicker, then it restarts over and over. I have researched this a lot. I know that I have windows xp fatal error during installation to get into the recovery console, but my computer will not allow me to press R when booting from the CD to install this. I have already installed Windows XP Home Edition with SP2 to the existing partition so that I could find help on this issue. Nothing seems to be working and reformatting the hard drive is not an option, important info on it.

Simply back-up all your important data and perform a Clean Installation. Okay, right now I am on my laptop. I am having problems with my other computer. It is a Dell, and runs on Windows XP. I have noticed some strange happenings with it over the last few weeks. I've run multiple virus scans on it when I noticed it was acting funny and deleted anything it came up with. I used Ad-Aware SE Personal, and also Spybot Search and Destroy to remove the potential viruses. The next thing I noticed, was that my homepage was always resetting itself to "http://www.bydou.com/" and everytime I would turn on the internet (I use a wireless broadband card), this would be my homepage. I would then change it, but everytime I turned off my computer and came back to it later to get on the internet it did the same thing. Today, about 20 minutes ago, I tried to get on the computer.
