A blue screen comes up and tells me it's dumping physical memory and I have to reboot. I believe it's called a Stop Error. I have tried resetting the bios several times, but it persists on doing it. Anyone who has an idea, please help, I am frustrated. You are indeed seeing a STOP error if the screen reads STOP: message_text_bad_thing_happened 0x000000CA or something to that effect. Thing #1 (the significant thing): You really need to determine what is causing this problem. STOP errors are bad news and indicate an underlying problem that needs to be addressed. Resetting the BIOS will not help; write down the error message and the error code: 0x0CA is an abbreviated form that will save you some time. Thing #2 (the not so significant thing): the memory dumps take a little extra time and are useless to you, and just about everyone else. They also take disk space. You can disable this by right-clicking on My Computer, selecting Properties, and then click on the Advanced tab. There is a button underneath where it reads "Startup and Recovery" that says settings.....in there you will see the controls for the size of the memory dump (Write debugging information). My recommendation is to set it to "None" . Post the error that you are getting on the STOP screen and we'll see what we can do to help figure it out. -Mark 2002-04-06,05:04 #3 Mystcal1 View Prof
