360] How to Flash Your HDDSS.bin in Windows First of all, this is NOT a method I would recommend for everyone as you can brick your drive or your computers' hard drives if you are careless. If you are trying to build xbox 360 hitachi hard drive flash a 360 drive from scratch see here first: How to hack a 250gb sata drive to work in the Xbox 360 and Xbox 360 Slim It is a fantastic tutorial written by InsaneNutter and should be used first. This tutorial is only for people who can launch HDDhacker, but it refuses to write to or read from your hard drive. This happens sometimes due to sector 16 being blank and HDDhacker thinking it's a failure to read, not a blank sector. Just make hddhackr seagate sure it's not your SATA controller first. This may allow you to use a non Western Digital hard drive in your 360. I have successfully done this to a Seagate model recently with no issues whatsoever. But don't count on it to work on every drive, and don't complain if you wreck your drive. Now with that out of the way, here's your standard disclaimer. If this tutorial works for you, great! If not, you either did something wrong, or you just have bad luck. Do not come complaining to me or blaming me if you break your hardware, you tried to modify it, not me. Anyway lets get to the good stuff! Things you will need: a hard drive you want to modify a hddss.bin appropriate to your hard drive a computer running Windows a hex editor, I used Hex Workshop (do not ask me how to pirate this software, buy it if you like it) a way to connect your hard drive to your computer (which you should already have) a bit of common sense For this tutorial I used a 250gb WD2500BEVS I salvaged from a dead laptop (Profit!). For my hddss.bin (signature file, security sector) I used the 250GB Hard Drive Security Sector available here. I used a USB Microsoft data transfer cable, but you could just as easily use the drive directly connected via SATA. In fact SATA is a better idea because you still have to create the partitions with HDDha

INT is an x86 instruction that triggers a software interrupt, and 13hex is the interrupt number (as a hexadecimal value) being called. http://digiex.net/guides-reviews/console-guides/xbox-360-guides/8569-xbox-360-how-flash-your-hddss-bin-windows.html Contents 1 Overview 2 List of INT 13h services 2.1 Drive Table 2.2 Function Table 2.3 INT 13h AH=00h: Reset Disk Drive 2.4 INT 13h AH=01h: Get Status of Last Drive Operation 2.5 INT 13h AH=02h: Read Sectors From Drive 2.6 INT 13h AH=03h: Write Sectors To Drive 2.7 INT 13h AH=04h: Verify Sectors From Drive 2.8 INT 13h AH=05h: Format https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/INT_13H Track 2.9 INT 13h AH=06h: Format Track Set Bad Sector Flags 2.10 INT 13h AH=07h: Format Drive Starting at Track 2.11 INT 13h AH=08h: Read Drive Parameters 2.12 INT 13h AH=09h: Init Drive Pair Characteristics 2.13 INT 13h AH=0Ah: Read Long Sectors From Drive 2.14 INT 13h AH=41h: Check Extensions Present 2.15 INT 13h AH=42h: Extended Read Sectors From Drive 2.16 INT 13h AH=43h: Extended Write Sectors to Drive 2.17 INT 13h AH=48h: Extended Read Drive Parameters 3 See also 4 References 5 External links Overview[edit] See also: Logical block addressing §Enhanced BIOS Under real mode operating systems, such as MS-DOS, calling INT 13h would jump into the computer's ROM-BIOS code for low-level disk services, which would carry out physical sector-based disk read or write operations for the program. In MS-DOS, it serves as the low-level interface for the built-in block device drivers for hard disks and floppy disks. This allows INT 25h and INT 26h to provide absolute disk read/write functions for logical sectors to the FAT file system driver in the DOS kernel, which handles file-related requests through
