router for ports 88 and 3074 (this is the magic that gets you from moderate to open) ** Don't use port forwarding (which requires static IP), use port triggering. Add these triggers: xboxlive88, triggered port range 88-88, forwarded port range 88-88, enabled xboxlive3074, triggered port range 3074-3074, forwarded port range 3074-4074, enabled From what I gathered from Microsoft descriptions of "moderate", it means that NAT xbox 360 nat error moderate is working pretty much ok, but at least one of those ports is being blocked in one direction or another. Now, why this isn't just working with uPnP, I'm not sure. Stranger still, if I turn off uPnP on the router, it still works. So, I think there is some sort of odd issue on V23 SP2 which does not play nice with the xbox360 and uPnP. For reference, my hardware is WRT54GL, running the standard v23 firmware.
