E10 Error Frigidaire Washer
all. Bad week for Frigidaire appliances at the house. Have two stacked sets of front-loading washers/dryers... one washer and one dryer both went down in the last few days. Getting what appears to be (based on reading the forum) a fairly common latch / spin issue. I can get it to display an E47 error by doing the button combination after the cycle ends. My questions: - Am I going down the right path... a latch issue? - How do I access the latch? Down through the top, as I read in another thread? I would prefer to access it some other way if possible, as the washer currently is the lower of a stacked set. Unhooking/unstacking the gas dryer will not be fun. - My model number is GLTF2940ES0. I got the Washer Tech Data Sheet from the envelope below and ran the diagnostic. It's actually pretty neat how it does a different thing for each setting of the dial. As best as I can tell everything worked, it even did the drain and spin on the eighth click of the dial (Sport). On the ninth click (Wool) it gave the error code "E47" which I looked up in the Washer Tech Data Sheet. It says, "Board thinks the door PTC circuit is open in spin. Refer to test (9)." Test 9 says, "Remove the door lock assembly and measure the resistance of the PTC." If it's about 1500 ohms the control board is defective. If it's open or shorted the PTC is defective. There's one itsy bitsy problem. Nowhere can I find what the PTC is! I looked at the schematic and there's no sign of the PTC or anything that has those initials. I assume it is part of the door latch assembly. Any idea which part? Also, it occurs to me that it might be easier to measure the resistance at the connector where it plugs into the control board than to take the washer front off to get to the door switch assembly. Am I right about that? Finally, while doing the diagnostic I tried to see if the system recognized when the door was open. It did. I see from the schematic there is a
