Posts: 79 P0432 code I recently had one of the o2 sensors replaced cause it was blowing the fuse. Im thinking it was the last one in line. Now from time to time I get P0432 code. Any connection? any ideas? I read somewhere that the first sensor is older than the last one, maybe the cause. Hope im making sense !! 10-19-2011, 09:30 AM main catalyst efficiency below threshold bank 2 #2 TnDz TJ Jeeper Join Date: Apr 2011 Location: Reno, NV Posts: 2,925 Code P0432 indicates that the Bank 2 Main Catalytic Converter emissions efficiency has fallen below the minimum allowable limit. This threshold is tracked by the Oxygen Sensor located on or near the outlet of the Catalytic Converter. This code refers to the BANK 2 DOWNSTREAM O2 sensor... BANK 1 is cylinders #1, 2 and 3.... BANK 2 is #4,5 and 6... There are 4 O2 sensors total... BANK 1 UPSTREAM BANK 1 DOWNSTREAM BANK 2 UPSTREAM BANK 2 DOWNSTREAM Hope this helps you out... I'm going thru the SAME THING right now... if not the O2(s) ... then the CAT is shot, which means a new downpipe for abut $350 at Rock Auto (Cheapest I have found). It replaces both BANK 1 and BANK 2 cats at the same time. __________________ ~Todd~ 2004 X 4.0 5 speed---SOLD 4" Lift, 4.56's, 33" Duratracs on M/T Classics RR SYE, Tatton CV, MML, BL, TT, Dynomax Exhaust Hella Lighting: Driving, Fogs and H4 E-Codes NOPE! ... and NEVER will be... 10-19-2011, 09:32 AM #3 wwch99tj Jeeper Join Date: Mar 2011 Locati

HO2Ss- Faulty front heater O2 sensor- O2 sensors harness is open 2004 jeep grand cherokee p0432 or shorted- O2 sensors poor electrical connection What does this mean? Tech notes As the code description p0432 jeep xj implies the P0432 code means that the vehicle's control module has detected that the three-way catalytic converter is not working properly (is not as efficient as the factory is http://www.wranglerforum.com/f210/p0432-code-118473.html expecting). Replacing the oxygen (O2) sensors may sometimes fix the code, but in most cases the catalytic convert needs to be replaced to fix the problem. If the P0432 code is combined with other codes, try fixing the other codes first. What does this mean? When is the code detected? The P0432 code is set when the Engine Control http://www.engine-codes.com/p0432.html Module (ECM) detects rear HO2S value difference becomes closer to value of front HO2S. The ECM monitors when vehicle speed is 25-60 MPH, load is 22-45 percent and engine speed is 1000-3000 RPM. Possible symptoms- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light) P0432 Description The Engine Control Module (ECM) monitors the switching frequency ratio of heated oxygen sensors 1 (front O2 sensor) and heated oxygen sensors 2 (rear O2 sensor).A three way catalyst converter (Manifold) with high oxygen storage capacity will indicate a low switching frequency of heated oxygen sensor 2. As oxygen storage capacity decreases, the heated oxygen sensor 2 switching frequency will increase. When the frequency ratio of heated oxygen sensors 1 and 2 approaches a specified limit value, the three way catalyst malfunction is diagnosed. Mine's an 04 TJ Rubi. I called my local dealership and explained what I knew about the code, and he insisted on charging a diagnostic fee first to 'assess' the problem, rather than replace the cat, and insisted it was going to be an O2 sensor. So I called a VERY reputable dealer here in GA (Jasper Jeep) and the service tech took the time to walk me through what the service department would do first, second, third, and fourth to fix the problem, and said that while yes, typically the Cat will need to be replaced, he suggested a few things to try first. So I got to playing with things tonight and now I'm dumbfounded. I started by clearing the codes and resetting the PCM as per the instructions in the FAQ. Then I th
