Quote #1 Sat Feb 15, 2014 3:02 pm Those familiar with Haswell overclocking should be familiar with the title, it's a common event log error that indicates the processor detected and corrected an error that otherwise would've led to a BSoD. I saw this frequently during my trials and tribulations when OCing my 4770K... but now I have a real puzzler. I'm getting this error on a Core i7 4771 processor. Hence there is zero OCing going on.A corrected hardware error has occurred.Reported by component: Processor CoreError Source: Corrected Machine CheckError Type: Internal parity errorProcessor ID: 4The details view of this entry contains further information. Is anyone an expert with this errors that knows what's going on? Could this possibly indicate an error detected in the RAM, or is it a CPU cache error? Memtest & prime don't find any issues as this error is fairly rare, but I've noted a few other instances in the event logs. Top notfred Maximum Gerbil Posts: 4205 Joined:

Well i just recently built a new a corrected computer, i have replaced the MOBO and still have this problem. I keep randomly freezing. it could take 4 mins, it could take 6 HRS, i can run games fine and is triggered when i do absolutely nothing to trigger it. No BSOD, no errors in event viewer pre-crash. Ran memtest on my sticks, it came back no errors on 6 passes each stick. It works fine in safe mode and a corrected hardware in BIOS, no freezes there. My event viewer gives me this error every 5 minutes: A corrected hardware error has occurred. Reported by component: Processor Core Error Source: Corrected Machine Check Error Type: Cache Hierarchy Error Processor ID: 2 _________________________ ID 4 and ID 5 happen at the same time. ID 2 is rare. I am NOT over clocked. Could this be a hardware issue? my voltage is 5.0 - 5v, 12.149 - v12, and 3.336 - 3.3v CPU Temps 34-42 MB temp 34-37 I have tried 2 different windows CDs. Could it be a PSU problem? What puzzles me is if it is hardware why can i run safe mode with no freezes. (STOP 0x00000101 and 0x00000124) [closed] up vote 3 down vote favorite 1 I just built a new system and I'm getting very frequent STOP errors. The STOP errors I've hard are 0x00000101 and 0x00000124, which are both Machine Check Exceptions. I know that I have a hardware error, but I'm not sure if it's the CPU or the motherboard that's the problem. I don't have another CPU of the same socket handy to swap and test. The reason I suspect the CPU is because in the event log I see a log of these: A corrected hardware error has occurred. Reported by component: Processor Core Error Source: Corrected Machine Check Error Type: Cache Hierarchy Error Processor ID: 1 The details view of this entry contains further information. From what I've read, that could be a BIOS issue, but it certainly sounds like a CPU issue. The motherboard is a GIGABYTE with AMD SB700 southbridge. The CPU is an Athlon X2 7750. My understanding is that the CPU is a re-branded X4 with two cores disabled, probably because they are faultly. I want to RMA the faulty part, but I'm not sure which it is. Anyone care to guess? UPDATE: RESOLVED - After replacing the motherboard, the problem turns out to be "Cool 'n Quiet". Disabling "Cool 'n Quiet" in the BIOS suddenly resolved the issue. No more BSODs. central-processing-unit hardware stoperror share edited May 26 '09 at 18:10 asked May 16 '09 at 22:08 Chris Thompson 337920 locked by HopelessN00b Dec 5 '14 at 9:50 This question exists because it has historical significance, but it is not considered a good, on-topic question for this site, so please do not use it as evidence that you can ask similar questions here.
