Sage Accpac Error 40962
The workstation will connect to the database server in 2 different means. It will make both a direct connection using ADO. In addition, it will use an ODBC connection to data. Some good troubleshooting steps: Check to make sure that the proper ODBC entries have been made Depending of yourconfigurationin Sage 300 (Accpac) Database Setup you may need to make a single ODBC entry called databaseservername32 or an individual ODBC entry for each database (e.g. SAMSYS, SAMINC) If the workstation is 64-bit invalid database specification accpac windows 7 workstation, your entries must be made with the 32-bit ODBC client (C:\Windows\SysWow64\ODBCAD32.exe) Disable UAC (User Account Controls) This can often interfere with Sage 300 (Accpac) making a connection with the ODBC drivers Check that the version of Sage 300 (Accpac) that the right version of the SQL Client is set in the ODBC Entry. Starting with version 5.6 the SQLNative Client is required. Disable any firewall that may be blocking outbound traffic. Login as a user that has local admin rights on the machine and test as that user. If this fixes it, run RegAcc as the admin user. This will create all of the required registry entries that the non-admin user will need. a new Accpac installation on a workstation – although it isn’t isolated to this event. There are several causes of this problem – and here are a few items to check: 1)The most common culprit – ODBC invalid database specification accpac windows 8 connection. If you have recently upgraded from Pervasive to MS Sql, ensure that your sage 300 erp cannot access database (error=49153) Pervasive ODBC connection has been removed and that your MS SQL Native Client connection is valid. 2)If you are running Accpac on sage accpac 5.6 invalid database specification Vista or Windows 7 – make sure that you are running accpac as an administrator. Right click on the accpac shortcut and select ‘run as administrator’, or make your accpac shortcut run as an administrator http://www.baass.com/plusblog/bid/101346/Invalid-Database-Specification-error-Sage-300-formerly-Sage-Accpac all the time, by editing the advanced properties of the shortcut. 3)Logon to your workstation as the administrator and run the regacc utility. 4) Ensure the user has adequate rights to the database folder. This is different than the shared data folder – it is the actual location of the mdf files (sql database files).5) Check the event viewer for an indication of the source of problem. For example, we have seen http://www.baass.com/plusblog/bid/62164/Invalid-Database-Specification-Accpac-Error-What-do-I-do-now where the error message stated the database is inaccessible because another task has locked it.
