Fatal Error Started by AlwaysNeedHelp , May 08 2007 02:33 AM Please log in to reply 3 replies to this topic #1 AlwaysNeedHelp AlwaysNeedHelp Newbie Members 2 posts Posted 08 May 2007 - 02:33 AM Everytime I start a new scan, it gets about 120 something files in, and the computer reverts back to classic mode and after a few my computer shuts off to a Blue screen with a fatal error. What could be causing this....and How do I fix it? Back to top #2 redwolfe_98 redwolfe_98 Advanced Member Members 47 posts Posted 08 May 2007 - 10:16 AM how long have you had ad-aware installed? did you only recently install it? if so, maybe the problem is a result of the ad-aware installer that you used..if you only recently installed ad-aware, i would try to uninstall it and then reinstall it using the "old" ad-aware installer, which worked right.. here is a like for the "old" ad-aware installer:http://www.filehippo...d_ad-aware/?142 Back to top #3 AlwaysNeedHelp AlwaysNeedHelp Newbie Members 2 posts Posted 08 May 2007 - 11:55 PM Yeah this happened and I uninstalled adaware, and reinstalled...both from download.com...so maybe thats why? Back to top #4 redwolfe_98 redwolfe_98 Advanced Member Members 47 posts Posted 09 May 2007 - 01:26 AM i am sorry my suggestion didn't help.. maybe you have some malware that is preventing ad-aware from running.. you could try doing some scans with some other antimalware-programs, like "superantispyware" or "a-squared antimalware".. Error Started by Besocelestial , Sep 25 2008 10:22 AM Please log in to reply #1 Besocelestial Posted 25 September 2008 - 10:22 AM Besocelestial New Member Member 5 posts Hello. adaware fatal error I formatted my HD and reinstalled Windows XP this past weekend due to ongoing issues. All issues seem to be resolved now. I am running Avast 4.0 Home Edition and Spybot Search & Destroy 1.6. I have been trying to reinstall Adaware as well but get Error 1920 Service aawservice failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privilege to start system services. I have done the following: Verified that Adaware was uninstalled thru add/remove programs Removed any Lavasoft folders that were still on my Hard drive rebooted a gajillion times. Tried Safe mode. I am the computer administrator...or at least I should be I checked ot amke sure there was not any other user accounts and all. Thanks in advance for assistance! Firstly, here's some info on my computer: Gateway GT5408 Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1; 32 bit 4G of memory IntelCore2CPU; 4300 @ 1.8GHz Issue: About a year ago, my Ad-Aware SE Personal stopped opening. I do not recall anything I may have done to cause this, as it always worked fine. Whenever I tried to use it, after a few moments of trying to open, a message would tell me that Ad-Aware will not open because it may already be in use. So, I tried opening it as Administrator- still no success. Then I tried to uninstall it, and it would not uninstall. I also tried installing the new version in the hope that it would successfully uninstall what I currently have and cleanly install the new version; however, it is always unsuccessful. I get these messages: Fatal error during installation. Error A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file: C:\Users\Israel\AppData\Local\Temp\mia1\WISDED53B0BB67C4244AE6AD6FD3C281EF_7_1_0_10.MSI So I went in and tried to find all of the Ad-Aware stuff I could to delete manually. I am a computer novice, and it appears I may have missed something, because it still will not uninstall/re-install properly. I tried Solway's Delete Doctor, with no success. As I was using DD, I went into Program Files and found all of the Lavasoft/Ad-Aware files, but DD wouldn't accept them for deletion. I have decided to stop trying t
