The system has been shut down. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if posting some sort of log such as hijackthis would be more useful for you. Thank you very much. Regards, Allen Cunningham 0 Comments profdlp The Holy City Of Westlake, Ohio Mar 2006 edited Mar 2006 I found this: This occurs when Windows switches into kernel mode and a user-mode subsystem, such as Winlogon or the Client Server Runtime Subsystem (CSRSS), is compromised and security can no longer be guaranteed. Because Win XP can’t run without Winlogon or CSRSS, this is one of the few situations where the failure of a user-mode service can cause the system to stop responding. This Stop message also can occur when the computer is restarted after a system administrator has modified permissions so that the SYSTEM account no longer has adequate permissions to access system files and folders. Your idea about posting a HijackThis log is an excellent one. If there is something rotten going on we'll get you fixed up. 0 si_allen Mar 2006 edited Mar 2006 Here is the hijackthis log that I just ran on my computer: Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.0 Scan saved at 10:08:17 PM, on 3/2/2006 Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP2 (6.00.2900.2180) Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\Ati2evxx.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WI

One of the Korgo variants, likely Korgo.C The Newgina password capture utility and certain NetSky variants. This is a rather old problem though and perhaps an on line scan would help, after uninstalling Adaware. Make sure you are going to the Adaware home site to get your copy. The other possibility is either a .dll corruption or a BIOS issue, is the BIOS up to date.I'm tied up right now, but this might spark something up.Cheers · actions · 2006-Mar-10 6:20 pm · joepwpbPremium Memberjoin:2000-12-15West Palm Beach, FL joepwpb Premium Member 2006-Mar-10 6:59 pm OK...I threw in the towel on the challenge of finding a fix and uninstalled Ad-Aware and the problem went away.
