I just recently set up test server copy of the game and after this not one patch has worked with patcher. could the copy interfere with this?? any tips on how to get 18.0 working? My fault for thinking I could get away with patching both at the same time. Fan-freaking-tastic! Thought this is just the regular deal but then during the process of patching the 17.9.0 - 17.9.1 ep.exe patch, it keeps telling me there's a checksum error and wants me to report to http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/913777-anarchy-online/43778214 the tech support. I retried a few times to patch it again, even downloaded a file from the patch section on AO's website, still getting that checksum error.Anybody know what is causing the checksum and how to fix it? When can I finally play AO? :(User Info: AarykAaryk 8 years ago#2it keeps telling me there's a checksum error and wants me to report to the tech support. How about following directions? We are not Funcom's Tech Support. ;)Honestly, I know this has happened to me before and I know I didn't bother reporting it and was able to fix it...I just don't remember what the heck I did to fix it. I think it was probably just downloading the patch manually from the FTP site...but I think you said you already did that and you still got the error. So, I don't know what else to tell you.I'm kind of a big deal.User Info: siuchesiuche (Topic Creator)8 years ago#3I reported the error to their tech support already, they said they're gonna reply in 24 hrs

Re: AO Wine 18.4 Fix Discussion « Reply #1 on: December 13, 2010, 04:03:31 » Perhaps a little clarification is in order:Awesomium http://www.khrona.com/products/awesomium/ is a web engine being used by a bunch of developers at the moment including Funcom in its game Anarchy Online. In versions of 18.4.x of Anarchy Online, under the Linux operating system (possibly anarchy online others like *bsd, osx?), AO is not working correctly thanks to something specific with Awesomium.dll in your Anarchy Online folder.Neo-Vortex has kindly created and distributed a patched Awesomium.dll + source code, which fixes the problem. If you replace AO's Awesomium.dll with Neo-Vortex's one, it will complain about an error in checksums (AO verifies all its files are correct to avoid cheating). So you need to start up AO let it do its checksums, THEN anarchy online error copy Neo-Vortex's Awesomium.dll over the one distributed by Funcom in Anarchy Online, then log into AO. Don't forget to take a backup copy of the original Awesomium.dll distributed by Funcom, as it will check/verify that that file is untampered and exists every time you start up AO before it gets to the logon screen.Hope this helps, as I was a bit.. 'wtf?' with the Awesomium title of the various threads. Logged And remember kids, Say NO to Dragons, say YES! to Cyborgs!!!Life is like a gift-wrapped basket... Re: AO Wine 18.4 Fix Discussion « Reply #3 on: December 13, 2010, 04:30:11 » There are some other discussions relating to this issue which propose a binary patching of Anarchy.exe or Client.exe to skip the checksum procedure return code. There are many reasons why this could be bad, so I am sharing a little w
for a while now, on a windows version. About 6 months ago, we decided that we'd had enough of the Microsoft incompetence, and changed to Linux Ubuntu. For as far as I've seen, I'd say its only slightly better (but that is me being a complete dummy in computers). Now, to get back to the point :) I wanted to continue playing Anarchy Online, so I layed my hands on a brandnew Wine. at first I copied my old Anarchy Online folder completely into the Wine c:// directory, but that didn't quite work... So I decided I would do it the more catholic way, and ran the Install.exe trough wine. The installation went fine, and as I was enjoying an ingame party in a vision, I tried to run Anarchy online, and well, it basicly just shut down. heres what happens: I open anarchy.exe, trough wine, and I get the EULA. I hit accept, and the "checking Integrity" window appears, but vanishes even faster than it appeared, and boom, no more anarchy online. It keeps going this way, every time I try to start it up. I have the latest Ubuntu, and the latest Wine version. I'm using the 17.9 Anarchy Online client version. here's my anarchy.err: [21:00:59] Checking integrity of files: [21:00:59] Checksum for file 'AnarchyPatcher.exe' failed [21:00:59] The file C:\Program Files\Funcom\Anarchy Online\AnarchyPatcher.exe is missing. I have allso browsed trough this very forum, and found a number of threads (both with cerega and wine), about people who have the same issue. None had an answer though. Could anyone help me/us out please? thanks on forehand. djn808February 28th, 2009, 11:11 PMI know it's a dead
