Stopped receiving e-mail to my EVO sometime yesterday, work server-check, sync to work computer-check, re-entered password in an attempt to "log on" -no go. All of a sudden, this weekend my email stopped syncing. When I try to run a manual sync, I see that it reports a sync protocol error. I've never seen this before. Calendar & contacts syncs fine. Upon further investigation, It just does not show any new email. I've searched for this error, and it seems to be a common problem but I cannot find a solution. We have 2 android phones running at our office, and they have worked fine for a long time. I cannot figure out what changed. And the other phone is still getting email just fine. I had Exchange Active Sync configured with my work provided exchange email account. Everything was great until I downloaded the Android 2.2 update on Thursday August 5, 2010. Right after this, I noticed my exchange emails would not sync. After talking with Sprint technical support, we removed my Exchange Active Sync account, rebooted the phone and reconfigured the Exchange Active Sync account. Emails and contacts synced fine, however I received the client/server conversion error when for the calendar syncronization. After working through this issue with Sprint, they could not figure it out. I have disabled all other calendars (Calendars>Menu>Calendars) and retried everyting. nothing works. I have the latest HTC Sync and android SDK components. I'm using Eclipse 3.5 on windows XP. I'm running Android 2.2, and am asking for 2.1 as the minimum in the debugger. I work in Eclipse/Java just about every day, and have for several years. I'm even writing an Eclipse plugin at work as I type this.... neither Eclipse nor Java are new to me by quite a stretch. When I start a debug session for the "Skeleton App" sample project, I can see my Evo, and the activity launches (with any freshly saved changes), should I select it. BUT: my breakpoints are ignored, and logCat doesn't see my app's output(see comments below). *W*hat a *T*errible *F*ailure (As the api so artfully puts it)! (oh look... a formatting bug.
