This user doesn’t have access to folder PT_TOOLS_HIDDEN. Contact the portal administrator. (95,136).” This screen also shows: Top Menu Features Description Removal Confirmation? Are you sure you wish to remove this pagelet from your home page? : Yes-Remove No-Do Not Remove. Hitting the No-Do Not Remove button takes you back to the first screen (Authorization error). In PeopleSoft HCM 9.1 application PIA, the users having the permission list ‘PTPT1000′ can have access to new pagelet Top Menu Features Description’. Sometimes PTPT1000 will be cloned and certain privileges in it would be removed to restrict the user accessing specific pages. In that case, chances of getting Authorization Error in PeopleTools 8.50, 8.51, 8.52 are more. Solution – Map the web library ‘WEBLIB_PT_NAV’ to the cloned permission list and give full access to it. Menu navigation error is also associated with the permission list ‘PTPT1000′. When a user gets this error on clicking on some folders in PIA, then it should be a security concern with PT_TOOLS_HIDDEN folder. Navigate to PeopleTools > Portal > Structure and Con

Authorization Error in PeopleSoft PIA's "Top Menu Features Description" pagelet In PeopleSoft HCM 9.1 PIA, there is a new pagelet which displays the "Top Menu Features Description". This pagelet is accessible for the users having the permission list - PTPT1000. However in real time, rolling out this PTPT1000 permission list for production http://www.smarterp.com/blogs/app-and-database-administration-peoplesoft-administration/troubleshoot-authorization-menu users is not preferred. We instead clone this permission list and create a new one removing the other privileges in PTPT1000 permission list which we would not want a normal end user in production to be exposed with. When cloning of the Permission list is not done properly, it results in several issues. Error Message:"Authorization Error - Contact your security administrator." http://peoplesoftwiki.blogspot.com/2010/10/authorization-error-in-peoplesoft-pias.html One such issue is the Top Menu Features Description pagelet showing message as"Authorization Error - Contact your security administrator."This issue is common in PeopleSoft HCM 9.1 or in PeopleSoft applications with PeopleTools 8.50, 8.51, 8.52 and 8.53. Cause: This issue is with the cloning of permission list PTPT1000. For users with roles having PTPT1000 permission list(generally super users) will have no such issue. Solution: The web libraries defined for portal will have to be associated correctly with the newly created (cloned) permission list with proper access. To resolve this error message, make sure that this web library WEBLIB_PT_NAV is added to the permission list and given Full Access. And that solves it!!! on 10/10/2010 12:59:00 AM Email This BlogThis! (And other pages) The users do have the PTPT1000 access with WEBLIB_PT_NAV and full access to every iscript within that weblib. We also performed a security sync and cleared the cache. Any ideas on what is wrong and how to your security admin fix this? peoplesoft share|improve this question asked Aug 1 '12 at 18:06 Kevin Moore 12914 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote An Administrator in PeopleSoft does not have any special access other than what has been granted through Security Administration. I would try visually comparing the two accounts, and if that proves too arduous, then clone the administrator account and incrementally remove roles until you find the one that is granted the required access. Just to be on the safe side I would delete the app server and browser cache as the first step. Good luck! share|improve this answer answered Aug 13 '12 at 17:29 ardochhigh 1,91132646 Thank you for the reply. As a quick temporary fix we gave the user all the web libraries full access which obviously worked. I was hoping that someone knew the exact permission list and web library that controlled this. And while we are on the topic, I also need to know the permission list/web library for drag and drop functionality for pagelets. Thank You. –Kevin Moore Aug 13 '12 at 18:04 add a comment| Your Answe
portal homepages, and dashboards. In addition, OBIEE reports and dashboards can be published as tile definitions for display on fluid homepages and dashboards. This functionality defines the OBIEE reports and dashboards iScript-based content reference definitions in PeopleSoft applications. The iScript essentially acts as a client for the report request and sends Service Oriented Architecture Protocol (SOAP) requests to the OBIEE server. PeopleSoft applications store the credentials of an OBIEE administrator—a user with adequate privileges—in the PeopleSoft database and use these credentials to sign in to the OBIEE server, impersonate a real OBIEE user, and establish a session. The OBIEE server returns a session ID for this user session, which is sent as a query parameter with each SOAP/HTTP request being made to the OBIEE server. The OBIEE server responds to all valid requests. If the session ID is expired or is invalid, a sign-inscreen appears to the user. The OBIEE server provides a session ID and then appends a session ID in each HTTP request that is part of the HTML markup provided by the OBIEE server. If the user ID value in the PeopleSoft application is not found on the OBIEE server, an authorization error message appears to the user in the PeopleSoft application. Similarly, if the user exists in OBIEE but does not have authorization to the requested report, an authorization error message appears to the user. If authentication passes, then the OBIEE server generates the basic HTML markup for the PeopleSoft application to display. The application uses this basic HTML to send HTTP requests to the OBIEE server from the browser. Before reaching the OBIEE server, the HTTP requests pass through the PeopleSoft bridge servlet. The bridge servlet: Acts as a reverse proxy server to avoid any cross domain issues. Checks the validity of the OBIEE server for each request Forwards each request to the OBIEE server by copying the PeopleSoft headers—including PeopleSoft cookies. Receives and unpacks the OBIEE server response. Loads the unpacked server response into the client.
