Here's the link, zipped: http://www.sendspace.com/file/jbqldf There are two in there, pretty sure they'll have more or less the same output. Let me know what ya'll think and/or if you need any more info. I hadn't installed anything new, software nor hardware. I was working away, switched to Chrome while the computer was processing some files and then it froze... That was the first time it happened. Thanks very much. bazil83, Apr 10, 2012 #1 Sponsor bazil83 Thread Starter Joined: https://forums.techguy.org/threads/bsod-8086-a-minute-or-two-after-startup.1048712/ Apr 2, 2008 Messages: 21 Just thought I'd add, the machine freezes after about 1-2 minutes whether I've logged in or not - once Vista gets to the login screen, I can either log in or leave it at the login screen - it will hang. I haven't had the BSOD for a while, though - I mean, this started about 12 hours ago, but I've been in and out of Windows backing up, but it always hangs. Sometimes it comes back for a minute or two and then hangs again etc etc. More or less unusable, but I still have that window of time to copy stuff to my backup drives. I'm sure it could be fundamental hard drive problem, but I'd like to know what the dump file is saying before buying a new HDD.
