Published on Jun 7, 2014***THIS FIX IS ONLY FOR 0X0000C1F5 ONLY! IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER BSOD CODE, GOOGLE IT FOR AN ALTERNATIVE METHOD***This horrible failure happened on my friend's laptop, which caused it not to boot normally, in safe mode or even from the Vista https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VO52dSKpvNo DVDRom!!! It happened when she was installing a service pack for Vista and the installation was interrupted.STOP PRESS - There is now an alternative! (Thanks to sickboy1977 for the info) - Insert a Windows 7 Installation disc, boot into the first part of the installation and cancel the install. It fixes the corrupt $TfxLog.However if you DON'T have a Windows 7 disc, this method as described in the video, is the only alternative at this time.and the website for the amazing linux-based System Rescue CDhttp://sysresccd.org/Main_Page(Use the 'download' tab on the left to download the ISO (disc image) file using the SOUNDFORGE link and use disc burning software such as Nero, to burn the ISO on to a CDR)Obviously, as your PC is not working, you'll need to use a friend's pc to burn this cd. How to Repair BSOD 0x0000c1f5 Started blue screen error by ComputerIlliterate20 , May 26 2013 05:59 PM Please log in to reply 3 replies to this topic #1 ComputerIlliterate20 ComputerIlliterate20 Members 2 posts OFFLINE Posted 26 May 2013 - 05:59 PM To anyone, I have a Compaq Presario C769US Notebook PC. It's had a nasty habit of overheating and switching off in the past, but just recently it did this and now when I start it I get a blue screen with ****STOP: 0x0000c1f5 (0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000). I can't get into safe mode. All attempts to get into safe mode or any other thing leads back to the aforementioned screen. I don't have any installation or recovery discs. I'd take it to a professional, but I simply can't afford it. Is there anyway I can fix this myself, or will I just have to wait and save up money? Can you buy the appropriate installation disc? Please, any help will me greatly appreciated.
