It is an issue with my iastor.sys. Last week we reinstalled the driver and there has been no improvement. There was an update for the driver but when we went to install it, it would not allow it to be installed. I also have Norton Security Suite. I have attached the BSOD. Thanks in advance! Try disabling Norton temporarily to install the driver update. IASTOR.SYS is a type of SYS file associated with Dell Precision n Series System Software developed by Dell for the Windows Operating System. The latest known version of IASTOR.SYS is 1.0.0.0, which http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/541233/iastorsys-bsod/ was produced for Windows. This SYS file carries a popularity rating of 2 stars and a security rating of "UNKNOWN". What Are SYS Files? SYS files such as IASTOR.SYS are third-party (eg. Dell) device drivers or critical system files that come as part of the Windows operating system. Most SYS files allow internal PC hardware or attached hardware, such http://www.solvusoft.com/en/files/bsod-blue-screen-error/sys/windows/dell/dell-precision-n-series-system-software/iastor-sys/ as a printer, to communicate with third-party software programs (eg. web browsers, word processors, Dell Precision n Series System Software) and the operating system (eg. Windows).Other SYS files are critical system files called "kernel mode device drivers" which are used to power the Windows operating system. Files such as "CONFIG.SYS" contain configuration settings and specify what device drivers should be loaded by the operating system. Without driver files such as IASTOR.SYS, you wouldn't be able to do simple tasks such as printing a document. Why Do I Have SYS Errors? SYS file errors are typically caused by faulty hardware or corrupt device driver files. Because of the importance of IASTOR.SYS in the functionality of Dell Precision n Series System Software and other Windows functions, any corruption or damage to this file can create critical system errors in the form of a "blue screen of death" (BSOD). Please see "Causes of IASTOR.SYS Errors" below for more information. When Do SYS Errors Occur? SYS errors, such as those associated with IASTOR.SYS, most often occur during computer star

My accelerated drive is a 2TB Hitachi (port 1) and my cache is a 60GB OCZ Agility 3 (port 0) running on a SATA 3 port. I have no other internal hard drives. Lately, I have noticed that iaStor seems to forget which drive is being accelerated. It will report that the cache drive is operating just fine, but it can't find the drive to be accelerated. Of course, the accelerated drive has my OS on it, so the very fact that I can get to iaStor means my accelerated drive is accessible. Also, in the right hand column, iaStor shows my 2TB drive. Usually I am able to remedy this by resetting my cache drive and assigning it to the 2TB again, but the problem reoccurs on reboot or wake from sleep. This morning, on wake from sleep, iaStor caused a BSOD (see details below), and after a reboot, shows no cache drive (the SSD is not even visible in the right hand column, it shows port 0 empty). ==================================================Dump File : 123111-17908-01.dmpCrash Time : 12/31/2011 7:38:11 AMBug Check String : SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLEDBug Check Code : 0x1000007eParameter 1 : ffffffff`c0000005Parameter 2 : fffff880`012832c9Parameter 3 : fffff880`03d62818Parameter 4 : fffff880`03d62070Caused By Driver : iaStor.sysCaused By Address : iaStor.sys+94e1File Description : Product Name : Company : File Version : Processor : x64Crash Address : iaStor.sys+3b2c9Stack Address 1 : Stack Address 2 : Stack Address 3 : Computer Name : Full Path : C:\Windows\Minidump\123111-17908-01.dmpProcessors Count : 8Major Version : 15Minor Version : 7601Dump File Size : 291,184==================================================I chose the Z68 chipset specifically because I wanted to run SRT, and I bought the SSD specifically with that in mind.
