Before it shuts down, I have a blue screen with white lettering that has mentioned something about Memory, but it flashes so quickly I can't read the whole thing. I have gone through the steps for malware in the Virus Forum and they directed me here because despite a clean PC, I continue to have the shut down issue. Thank you in advance for all your help! Do you see any dmp logs from the folder? If yes, then read the instruction of the second paragraph below.If not, configure small memory dump debugging information under startup and recovery. Configure memory dumps : > Right-click My Computer and choose Properties. > Go to Advanced System Settings - Advance Tab. > Under Startup and Recovery, click Settings... > Look for 'write debugging information' and use small memory dump > Checkmark overwrite any existing file If there are latest created minidumps under C:\Windows\Minidump folder, please post the latest dmp logs (atleast 5) by : > Highlight (holding ctrl key) and choosing the dmp logs by hitting enter or lef

Blue screens can happen for blue screen a variety of reasons. These days, driver issues are probably number one on that list, tied with problems at shut down. Gathering information First, it’s an excellent idea to take a picture of the blue screen. It’s a good way to get the information to someone who can help, or just to have available to look at later as you’re researching the problem yourself. I would start with trying to identify the driver that’s involved. That’s blue screen error most likely going to be based on the name of the file that was referenced in the blue screen. If the name of the driver is not obvious from the file name, I would Google it. Hopefully, that will at least lead you to the specific hardware that’s involved in this problem. Check hardware Then, make sure that hardware is working properly. Hardware failures, particularly intermittent ones, often manifest as blue screens. The hardware does something that it’s never supposed to do, and the software (the driver) gets confused. Drivers will often handle those kind of failures less than gracefully, and then you get a blue screen. If the hardware isn’t being used and it’s removable, I’d be really tempted to take it out, at least for a while. That way you can see if the problem goes with it. Next, I’d make sure you have the latest drivers for that hardware. If it’s an add-on component, that means going to the manufacturer’s website for the latest drivers. If it’s a basic system component, I’d check next with the computer manufacturer itself. Get up-to-date And finally, I’d make absolutely certain that Windows itself is up to date and that any possible optional driver updates offered by Windows update are installed.
