It's really annoying me. I'm writing this by logging into ultimate boot cd. Strange because, it never happened before. Just about a week ago I installed and it installed perfectly fine. (I used a different Windows XP CD & a different DVD drive then). Now I'm trying to install windows xp pro sp3. When I insert the CD. Everything till "Loading %^$@#$@#$..." is fine. Then comes the step "Starting blue screen error Windows Setup" and then suddenly a Blue Screen pops up. It says: A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. Plug & Play detected an error most likely caused by faulty driver. If this is the first time you've seen this error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps. Check to makes sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need. If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching and shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced startup options, and then select safe mode. Technical Information: Stop: 00x000000CA (0X00000001, 0X826E0798, 0X826E058, 0X00000000) I did little bit of Googling and found that I need to change the drive configuration from AHCP to IDE (or something like that). I'm using Intel D915GLVG Desktop Board its bios doesn't have any such setting. But there was something related to IDE & SATA. I tried disabling the SATA ports and only enabling the IDE. Even then it didn't work. I'm using PATA hardisk as Primary Master and DVD COMBO drive as primary slave. Any suggestions about getting rid of this error? PS: I'm not t
Screen During Install Of Windows XP By: Garrett Blanton - December 9, 2009 Over the weekend I helped remove Windows Vista from my friends Dell Latitude E4300. Since all the drivers were offered on their support site I downloaded the SATA driver, merged the driver into Windows XP SP2 using nLite, then started the reinstallation process. Just after copying files to the hard drive the laptop would crash into a blue screen with the following error; STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF78D2524, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000). After scouring the web for fixes and trying many things that didn’t work, I finally came across a fix that allowed me to fully install Windows XP Pro SP2 onto a Dell Latitude E4300. I resolved the stop issue by the following these steps. 1. During start up, when you see the Dell logo, press F2 to enter the BIOS 2. Expand the "Drives" section 3. Go to "SATA Operation" 4. Change this from "RAID AHCI" to "RAID ATA" 5. Exit BIOS saving changes Tags: Blue Screen, CPU Fix, Windows XP STOP Error Trevor Hutchinson I have setup a new 500gb toshiba SATA 2 hard drive to run dual boot. Windows XP pro 32bit and windows 64bit. Unable to install XP pro, just goes into error and blue screen. I've removed the hard drive and placed it in my Packard Bell, loaded XP pro 32bit and win 8 64bit with no problem, and both run fine. Removed the hard drive from the packard bell laptop and place it back into the HP g6-1278sa, dual boot screen on start up. Options windows 8 or earlier windows. Windows 8 works fine. Windows XP pro starts to load and then we get the blue screen with error message. I've look at my advanced settings in the bios but nothing about Sata drives?
