drive in my PC after old one crashed. NEW copy of Windows 7 installed. Have it a few days and now after every hibernation/sleep, I get http://www.howtogeek.com/forum/topic/how-to-fix-blue-screen-on-windows-7-after-shut-downsleephibernate-and-restart blue screen errors. I cannot do the following instructions I found from another user as I get an Access Denied message. Can anyone help? PLEASE? We have found that sometimes the BCD file may have issues. You can try this to fix the BCD file. 1. Run CMD.EXE as administrator https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/d2e41a69-faff-4434-969c-a6ef80f532ca/blue-screen-after-hibernationsleep-on-windows-7?forum=w7itproperf 2. Run the following command: bcdedit -enum all Look for "Resume from Hibernate" in the output from the command above(example below): Resume from Hibernate --------------------- identifier {3d8d3081-33ac-11dc-9a41-806e6f6e6963} device partition=C: path \Windows\system32\winresume.exe description Windows Vista (TM) Enterprise (recovered) inherit {resumeloadersettings} filedevice partition=C: filepath \hiberfil.sys pae Yes debugoptionenabled No 3. Once you have found it, copy the value for identifier (in this example - {3d8d3081-33ac-11dc-9a41-806e6f6e6963}) 4. Run the following command: bcdedit /deletevalue {3d8d3081-33ac-11dc-9a41-806e6f6e6963} inherit 5. Test hibernation. Almost always, when my computer resumes from hibernation it recovers from crash mode. Error says "Power State Failure". I have updated drivers and cleaned up my startup somewhat but problem still persists. I downloaded Blue Screen Viewer as per suggestion in other thread - attached results. Page 1 of 2 1 2 Next > Xiong_Weilun New MemberJoined:Jun 22, 2009Messages:2Likes Received:0 Hello, I've found that when whenever I let my computer go to sleep, hibernate or restart it or shut it down then a blue screen will appear and restart the system. When the system comes to it will tell me the event name was Blue Screen and that the computer is recovering from a unexpected shutdown. I've filled out the form for information on my computer and I hope it will show here. I'm currently running my computer on the High Performance plan and not letting it go to any other mode, I would really like to solve this problem. Thanks for any help. By the way, my system is a dual boot with Windows XP. XP is on my main drive and 7 is on my second drive. #1 Xiong_Weilun, Jun 23, 2009 Last edited: Jun 23, 2009 mcenal New MemberJoined:May 22, 2
