OEM - OEM = came pre-installed on system nope bought off newegg - Full Retail = you purchased it from retailer - What is the age of system (hardware)? 3 years - What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) yes about 5 weeks, been having problems since the v270.61 drivers were released. I previously was using a EVGA 9800 GTS RMA card that worked for over a http://www.sevenforums.com/bsod-help-support/168070-bsod-error-116-a.html year now. I noticed there was a new nvidia graphics driver out so i installed it. One of timed i noticed there was a problem was when i tried to load up the control panel from my task bar, it said something about inappropriate version or something. I didnt pay any mind to it so I let it run for awhile. I got my first crash, i had no idea what it was i thought i accidently restarted my computer. Than it kept happening and happening. I opened one of the minidump files with bluescreen view and i noticed the culprit was always dxgkrnl.sys. After trying to troubleshoot everything from my ram to stress testing my cpu. I came to the conclusion that it was my graphics card. So I purchased a new one. Now I have the EVGA GTX 560 Superclocked, i thought everything was Alright and OK, but today I woke up to see my computer has crashed again from the same error. And yes i removed all nvidia stuff from my computer through control panel, and a safe mode driver sweeper. I'm up for formatting my computer to see if it fixes the issues but i want that to be my last resort, before anything else. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated i am truly tired of having these issues. My System Specs OS Win 7 home 64 bit CPU

Most of the issues get fixed or the user replaces the card. One problem is random BSOD(Blue Screen Of Death)/crashes caused blue screen by the graphics card that many people including me have encountered. In this guide I will try to help you through one specific issue, the BSOD BCCode 116 Locale ID: 1033 problem.WHAT CAUSES IT? The definition of a 0x116 bug check is: Quote: This indicates that an attempt to reset the display driver and recover from a timeout failed. The problem occurs whenever a Timeout Detection blue screen of and Recovery fails. The system then crashes and you have to start again. What happens is that whenever the DirectX sub kernel system detects that the graphics card is taking too long to execute a task, it goes into a Timeout mode(TDR timeout mode). During this mode it 'waits' for the card. The timeout is about 2seconds on Windows Vista/7. If the task takes longer than that, the computer considers the graphics card frozen and attempts a recovery. During the recovery the operating system tries to reset the GPU(during this, the graphics driver should stop accessing memory and other hardware). At the end of this process the system crashes because of corrupt drivers and/or some DirectX application cannot restart.SYMPTOMS - Random BSOD when using the system. Especially when watching HD content and/or gaming. The BSOD's does not have any occurrence pattern. - Low FPS(frames per second) in games. The BCC116/1033 error can cause some serious FPS drops in games, about 40-60% decrease. - Computer restarts when starting up. Graphics card crashes after POST and before/after Windows load. - Screen goes black on Windows login(rare) - Short to long screen freezing(rare)CAUSES - Corrupt drivers - Hig

So I just wanted to report this and see if anyone else has this issue and also get some help to fix it. So as I said the BSOD error code is 116 which upon googling is normally a video card issue most likely relating to drivers - I have 2x 4gig Palit 580's installed in SLI, I have checked to make sure I am using the latest driver's (340.52) which I am. I tried uninstalling the drivers and fresh installing them (driver sweeper) and have also uninstalled and reinstalled Strife to see if that helped but it didn't. Also another thing it mentioned is that it could be a direct X crash due to hardware failure of graphics cards so I stress tested them and no issues came up. Also made sure no cooling issues are occurring (I have 11 Fans and a water cooled cpu) so that's not the issue (even checked with speccy).
