I didn't install any new software (that I know of)... I think this is a hardware issue, but I'm not sure. Computer won't boot up to WIN XP at all. Comes to a screen where it says something a long the lines of "A recent hardware or software change may have cause computer to shut down improperly." It then gives option to boot in Safe Mode, use Last Good Configuration or boot Normally. All of the options just send it to a blank screen and then it reboots, and comes back to the screen again. I only got the blue screen error to show up win I put in a WIN XP CD and try to do a repair install. Couldn't get but about 2 minutes into loading the XP CD when the blue screen came up. -James Mar 3, 2006 #1 howard_hopkinso TS Rookie Posts: 24,177 +19 Hello and welcome to Techspot. 0x0000000A: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL Typically due to a bad driver, or faulty or incompatible hardware or software. Technically, this error condition means that a kernel-mode process or driver tried to access a memory location to which it did not have permission, or at a kernel Interrupt ReQuest Level (IRQL) that was too high. (A kernel-mode process can access only other processes that have an IRQL lower than, or equal to, its own.) Go HERE and follow the instructions for testing your ram/hard drive. I also recommend, that you disconnect anything not required to run your system. Let us know how you get on.
