Blue screen on shutdown could be indicative of an issue with either hardware or software. We'll walk through some steps you can take to blue screen computer shutdown to prevent damage deduce the problem. //When shutting down or restarting my computer, it freezes in the shut down process computer unexpected shutdown blue screen and then I get the blue screen of death. It’s been happening a lot more lately. I took pictures of it with my iPhone to windows shutdown blue screen physical dump see what it says but it’s too much to write out - but there’s something in there about a driver.
Blue screens can happen for a variety of reasons. These days, driver issues are probably number one on that list, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2eHjogFnNGM tied with problems at shut down. Gathering information First, it’s an excellent idea to take a picture of the blue screen. It’s a good way to get the information to someone who can help, or just to have available to look at later as you’re researching the problem yourself. I would start with trying to identify the driver that’s involved. That’s most likely going to be based on the name of the file that was referenced in the blue screen. If the name https://askleo.com/what-do-i-do-about-a-bluescreen-on-shutdown/ of the driver is not obvious from the file name, I would Google it. Hopefully, that will at least lead you to the specific hardware that’s involved in this problem. Check hardware Then, make sure that hardware is working properly. Hardware failures, particularly intermittent ones, often manifest as blue screens. The hardware does something that it’s never supposed to do, and the software (the driver) gets confused. Drivers will often handle those kind of failures less than gracefully, and then you get a blue screen. If the hardware isn’t being used and it’s removable, I’d be really tempted to take it out, at least for a while. That way you can see if the problem goes with it. Next, I’d make sure you have the latest drivers for that hardware. If it’s an add-on component, that means going to the manufacturer’s website for the latest drivers. If it’s a basic system component, I’d check next with the computer manufacturer itself. Get up-to-date And finally, I’d make absolutely certain that Windows itself is up to date and that any possible optional driver updates offered by Windows update are installed. If all that fails, I’d probably find a good technician. There’s a small possibility that it’s a software issue and that a reinstall of Windows would actually fix it, a small possibility. Of course, if it is, in fact, a hardware problem, a reinstall isn’t going to help you at all. Finally, if you changed or added hScreen of Death (aka BSoD) - select the contributor at the end of the page - Finding yourself in front of the dreaded blue screen of death can be a daunting experience. That means that the blue screen is actually stopping something bad from happening, which is a really good thing. To find out what exactly is wrong with your computer, we'll take advantage of the internet, and Microsoft's extremely detailed knowledgebase. That's right, no computer technician can memorize every stop code and its causes, not only is it OK, it's recommended to look things up!I usually pay attention to three lines in a blue screen of death. The first line I make note of is line 4, right under "The problem seems

Windows 7: Windows has shutdown to prevent damage blue screen error 01 Apr 2014 #1 ktm583 Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit 20 posts Windows has shutdown to prevent damage blue screen error About a week ago I noticed my computer became uncharacteristically slow, so I ran a full computer virus scan to check for infections and nothing turned up. Yesterday I found the culprit of the slow down, it was a process called "system interrupts" it was using 25% of my processor all the time. I came back to my computer an hour or so later to a blue screen that said windows has shutdown to prevent damage. I restarted my computer in safe mode without networking, and system interrupts is not using more than .1% processor power, so something that gets turned off in safe mode must be the culprit. After a couple of internet searches it seems that the problem is likely some that one of my hardware drivers is corrupted and needs to be reinstalled. What I would like to know is how I should check which hardware driver is the culprit? Also, which drivers should would be a waste of my time to check? i.e. I would assume that the driver for my hard drive is not the culprit as it is still used in safe mode.
