YOUR HARDWARE VENDORSYSTEM HALTED This has happened about 5 or 6 times. We call technical support. With technical support, we have turned the computer off and on again, removed and reseated the battery (twice), removed and reseated the hard drive (twice), the technician remoted in and deactivated some of the VISTA programs. I reactivated them and called him back to let him know that was not an option to making dell xps blue screen the computer work. The last time the technician return the hard drive back to factory specs and we started all over again. It worked for about two weeks, but blue screened again. It now sits at home waiting for a call from a technician. We are on day 3 of waiting! When the computer is working, it will often turn itself off and reboot itself. Just like the blue screen, there isn't a specific thing that you are doing that one could say "oh, it's when you are online or in excel or something." Both issues are completely random. I was told that it could be due to dueling anti-virus systems. The laptop has Norton and we have embarq. I disabled embarq's anti-virus program. Still it happened. Please help. About once or twice a day my Dell Dimension 4700 https://askleo.com/why_does_my_computer_blue_screen/ with XP shows me the Blue Screen. It says Hardware Malfunction, Call your hardware vendor for support. Parity check / memory parity error, the system has halted. I am looking for suggestions on how to blue screen fix this. When this blue screen appears, I have to reboot and hope it doesn't do it again while I'm in the middle of something important, like typing this! Thanks for any suggestions. I'm guessing it is a common problem on older computers. Mine is about 7 years old. Thanks! Hello and welcome to CHF! Does the blue screen show any error codes, or references to file-names? The message you quote says to me that it could be a RAM problem. What are the circumstances of when this problem occurs? Is it randomly, or during intensive tasks such as gaming or watching video? DirtyPolo, Aug 17, 2013 #2 BBKingfan New Member Joined: Aug 17, 2013 Messages: 6 Operating System: Windows XP Home Thank you for the reply. It is a pretty random issue, but the computer does freeze up often when I have just a few windows open. I think the blue screen happens more often when several things are open. I had more RAM installed a year or so ago. The memory is only 80 gig so I got an external hard drive to store all my pictures and other stuff that takes a lot of memory. I have about 60 gigabytes used out of 80. BBKingfan, Aug 17, 2013 #3 BBKingfan New Member Joined: Aug 17, 2013 Messages: 6 Operating System:

There are many reasons your computer could get the "blue screen of death". I'll review some things you can look into to help determine the cause. //I keep getting a "blue screen of death" and the following error message: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA and a bunch of other lines and the computer locks up. What is causing this and how can I fix it? Unfortunately, with only that to go on, there are hundreds, if not thousands, of possible answers. To really diagnose, we'd need a lot more information about the system it's happening on, the software and hardware installed, and what was happening at the time the problem happened. I'll throw out some guidelines, so perhaps you can narrow down the diagnosis. Major causes The most common causes for the fabled "blue screen of death" fall into four general buckets. 1. New Hardware While the hardware can sometimes be bad, the real culprit is typically outdated, or just buggy, drivers. If you've just installed new hardware, then it's likely to be related to the problem. Make sure you're running the latest drivers for that device. Check Windows Update, specifically for "Optional" updates, as driver updates are often classified as optional. Check with your computer manufacturer's support site, or the support site for the specific hardware you recently added to your computer, for specific driver information as well. Conversely, if you've just updated drivers, that would also be something to be very suspicious of. See How, and when, should I update drivers? for more information on driver updates. (Spoiler: don't use driver update utilities.) 2. New Software It's rare these days, but occasionally softwa
