This seems to be happening more often recently. A colleague mentioned that it could be down to temperature and to check fans, which I have cleaned as were getting a bit dusty. I have recently installed Kaspersky internet security and so removed AVG and Zone alarm to prevent http://www.techspot.com/community/topics/windows-7-crashes-with-blue-screen-getting-more-frequent.173668/ possible conflicts. I noted that earlier the reasons given when it blue screened were kernal data error 41 or kernal data inpage error. I googled this and someone suggested I updated drivers and I have updated the NVIDIA display and motherboard drivers as well as Realtek audio. The blue screen appears randomly but this afternooon it is happeneing when i try to run a kaspersky scan or even when trying to run windows update. Is there anything else I can try (bearing in mind that my skills are limited) or will I have to resort to a clean install? The first was while playing a https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wnRyv9BA_pY game and was a video hardware error. but the rest have been while browsing on the internet and in all cases have had youtube running. So maybe it is a blue screen GPU driver problem, I don't know. This is weird no problems with my software since I installed windows 8 pro back in july. More about : frequent blue screen Best solution alyoshka 17 December 2013 13:25:49 Disable hardware acceleration for internet content, eg shockwave properties. That will solve the BSOD while browsing.... Also check for a dust buildup in your rig..... overheating blue screen error could lead to problems too. And finally, roll back to the last Drivers that were used and wait for the chipset manufacturer to release another driver version and skip the current one... avoid beta drivers.
