When I switch it on it opens with the Toshiba welcome screen, goes http://lifehacker.com/keep-windows-blue-screen-of-death-from-automatically-r-509456466 to "We appologise... Windows did not start succesfully etc. If I then try to start in safe mode or "Start Windows Normally" it goes to the Windows logo, the bars run accross 5 times then freeze. A blue screen flashes on for about 3 seconds then back to the Toshiba welcome screen. It cycles on like this for ever. It stops with the power switch. Does anyone have any idea how I can read the http://www.techspot.com/community/topics/cant-read-blue-screen-of-death.62341/ Stop number from the blue screen? Help will be most welcom, I have a lot of work in there. Chas Nov 5, 2006 #1 N.A.T.O TS Rookie try pressing and holding the "pause/Break" button when the scrren you wish to view is displayed on the laptop. This might just freeze the screen long enough for you to read the error. You may have to hold the pause/break button down for as long as you wish to see the message. Chas Nov 5, 2006 #5 xxdanielxx TS Rookie Posts: 1,069 when in your bios look for something called failure restart or something like it then turn it off Nov 5, 2006 #6 ChasDorset TS Rookie Topic Starter I cant get into the bios, whatever I select from "we applogise" it goes into the blue screen, then
issue behind it is to write the error code that appears on the blue screen. However, by default, most Windows systems blue screen restart automatically in case of serious errors that normally cause a BSOD. So you see the BSOD for a couple of seconds and the computer restarts instantly making it impossible to write how to freeze the error code. To pause the BSOD, you have to disable the automatic restart of Windows in case an error occurs. To do that, right click on My Computer and select Properties. Then select Advanced System Settings from the right panel. On Advanced System Settings window, un-check the Automatically Restart option. That's it. Now Windows will not restart automatically in case of any serious issue and will pause at the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) screen. SUBSCRIBE TO STAY UPDATED Enter your email address... These problems can be caused by viruses, damaged/corrupt Windows files or leaking (A.K.A. distended) capacitors. If a leaking capacitor is your problem, you may be able to solve your problem by having the capacitor(s) replaced. Not all computer repair shops are capable of doing this type of work but you may be able to ask a friend or family member with some electronics experience to help.
