The content from memory is written to the Pagefile as the system is going down. It uses the Pagefile as placeholder for the data since it is too dangerous to try to create a new file on disk. When the machine starts up again it'll detect the dump, and move the data into a separate dump file (typically C:\Windows\Memory.dmp or C:\Windows\Minidumps*.dmp). Install WinDbg and open the .dmp file. Click the !Analyze link. Now it'll show you the stack from the thread that killed Windows, and show you which files that were involved. Often WinDbg will point you direcly at a specific driver file. I can recommend reading Mark Russinovich's blog and books. You can download WinDbg from Microsoft. So the question to the user is: "Can you e-mail me your dump file?" share|

"000000F4" ive looked on the microsoft site and it gives me to reasons 1. driver problem 2. software problem ONLY - i havn't added no new hardware or installed any new software. not even updated the server, its locked up in a seperate room to wich "I" only have the key. microsoft give these options to resolve this. 1. remove the hotfix 842642 (its not installed) 2. Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 1 (SP1) . Then once you have all that installed, reboot it in normal, let it blue-screen and then reboot into safe. Run WhoCrashed and it may help point you at the culprit. On the other hand it may do absolutely nothing - if you have the time, suggest a repair-install from a Server 2003 SP2 CD. I'm assuming it's NOT a DC or a CA or anything that could be seriously harmed by a repair-install. In any case, before you do ANYTHING - ensure you have backups, even if y
