4-player difficulty tool to trick the game into thinking there are more players in it. Requires the .NET Framework 4.0, which is available here. Borderlands 2 Difficulty Modes
Once the # players memory location has been found, you'll be able to move the slider to the desired difficulty. alt-tab back into Borderlands. The change in difficulty may not be immediate, but you should see it as new enemies start spawning. To check for sure if it's working, go fight crawmerax. He should have much more health than usual, and should drop 2-3 times as much loot as usual. A: No, this is for PC only Q: Can I raise this to have more players than 4? A: You can do it, but more than 4 players makes you invincible for some reason, so it defeats the purpose of the tool. This is true for both BL1 and 2. Q: Do I need different versions of the tool if I want to use them on Borderlands 1, 2, and the Pre-Sequel? A: No. The tool will detect whether you're playing Borderlands 1, 2, and the Pre-Sequel and do the right thing accordingly. Q: Will I get banned for using this? A: No. But note that this tool is a memory hack. As such, don't do anything foolish like keeping it open while playing games that use anti-cheat

And not a big deal for next gen since they have 4 player local anyways. So basically this is just a slap in the face to last gen players... Great. I'm happy most of the glitches are now fixed, including the 4 player glitch and the merging of weapons, along with all the other smaller ones. I'm extremely thankful for this huge patch we got so late in the game's life cycle. However, I'm not happy with the fact that they fixed the 4 player glitch without implementing a difficulty slider for consoles or increasing the chance of spawning Vermivorous/OOO in single player. That's the true problem here, not the fact they fixed the 4 player glitch. The glitch just happened to be a way around the issue. I've had OOO spawn on 3 occasions when I was not trying , once in normal mode, and have gotten a wanderlust (lvl 72) and god finger (op8) w/o using the 4 player trick.
