The control works perfectly on my own machine. When I deploy to the office to use some of the users are getting an error message "Can't exit design mode because control can't be created."They are running exactly the same as me including windows 7 64bit. Any suggestions as it is driving me mad as to why only a couple of users are experiencing it. Look at the path of yours in your VBE menu, TOOLS , REFERENCES. Make sure they have it too. Maybe not of help, but at least at my work, I cannot locate MSCOMCT2.OCX on my PC (WIN7 SP1 64-bit, Excel 2010 32-bit). I believe these controls were depreciated and may not be installed in Office 2010? Also, while you said the other users setup is exactly the same, if this library was installed, you might want to see if by chance, the users with troubles might have had Office installed i

When I insert the control on a blank worksheet (Developer, Insert, More Controls, Microsoft Date and Time Picker Controls cannot insert object 6.0 SP6), I get a message with "Cannot Insert Object". Similarly, when I try to place it on a Userform, I receive an "Invalid argument". The Activex control seems to be well registered: there is a "Microsoft Windows Common Controls-2 6.0 (SP6)" on the list of References and it is checked, location is c:\windows\system32\MSCOMCT2.OCX I have re-registered the control (regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\MSCOMCT2.OCX) but nothing changes. I even got a different version of the control (SP4 instead of SP6) and tried registering, nothing changes. I'm using Excel 2007 and Vista. What else could I try? thanks! That time I posted a request here and the response from RoyUK was to try this workaround UserForm that is having the same Date picker functionality, but is not an activeX control. So I have modified a bit for my purposes and now it works on all versions, all pc-s. I re

Version SP6 Posted on 2012-01-05 MS Excel Software-Other Installation 1 Verified Solution 2 Comments 1,942 Views Last Modified: 2012-05-12 Hello, I have had an update of a software on my PC (WinXP) and suddenly the Date & Time Picker is no longer working in Office 2007 (excel 2007). When I want to insert the active-x object Date & Time Picker, I get the error "Cannot insert Object" Sheets with the datepicker show a rectangle with a red cross. When I compare my version of the Datepicker with another PC who did not receive the update, I see that my version is 6.0 SP6 and on the other PC 6.0 SP4. Is this the culprit ? Is it true that SP6 is coming from Excel 2010 ? And how can this be solved ? Thank you very much. Apparently, Office is making a reference file but does not delete it. If you upgrade the Active-X, the reference is lost. 0 Write Comment First Name Please enter a first name Last Name Please enter a last name E
