to send POP3 and IMAP E-Mail. However if connected to other ISP provider such as Streamyx or Jaring, the problem is not exist. In this case usually the subscriber are able to surf the internet https://amrymr.wordpress.com/category/celcom/page/2/ and able to recieve Email. The only problem is when trying to send email https://yescrowd.optus.com.au/t5/Broadband-Telephony/DNS-server-not-responding-error/td-p/11412 using POP3 or IMAP protocol email. Root Problem:The IP which you are hooked to were blocked by your email provider server or even the intended or recepient email server. Why did the subscribers IP was blocked? There are several reasons but nowadays the most probable answer is that the IP was tagged due to spams (suspected spammers). celcom broadband This is the downside of using dynamic IP where the IP were shared by multiple subscribers, and once one of the subscriber "missuse" or abuse the connection to send spams, then the IP will be blocked or tagged as spammers. So how to solve it:1. get your external IP address (you can get your from this e.g. website http://www.whatismyip.com or other online IP tools). 2.Once you get your IP, contact your email celcom broadband dns provider (if your email is your own company email, refer to your respective IT department) and verify this matter. If its confirmed that the specific IP was blocked or tagged as spammers, ask them to remove it. 3. If you are too lazy to contact your IT department, try to google "free IP". I bet you will find a lot of free IPs out there. Try several IP untill you found an unblocked one and are working fine for your connection. To change your IP, for internet explorer user go to Option>Tools>Internet Option>Connection> LAN setting. Here you can enter your desired IP. Try restarting your computer before attempting a new Internet session. 4.Sometimes if your email server request for DNS, I highly recommend these DNS address from openDNS (208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220). Eventhough Celcom do provide DNS server but the reliability is doubted. Previously the DNS used was of TM origin. 5.A few years back celcom IP 219.93.152.18 (during this time celcom were using TMNet backbone system) were listed by http://www.spamhaus.org and http://cbl.abuseat.org as spammer. Therefore a lot of email defender system automatically block incoming email originating from this IP address.p/s: Apart from asking your respective IT department to release your IP, you can try to change your IP (as long as the IP is within the

The troubleshoot wizard on Windows 7 detects the error as "DNS server nor responding" and I have tried all the solutions discussed on Optus support page with no success. However, the connection problem resolves itself spontaneously after an hour or so.Does anyone know how this problem can be fixed permanently? I've been using this new wifi modem for the past few months with no problems. It is annoying not to be able to connect to the internet at the times I need to.Thanks,Anita Reply 0 Kudos Report Inappropriate Re: DNS server not responding error Post Options Mark as New Bookmark Subscribe Subscribe to RSS Feed Highlight Print Report Inappropriate 2012-06-07 12:50 PM Posted by David (Occasional Contributor) 7th Jun 2012, 12:50pm Member since 19th Jan 2012 with 16 Posts Message 2 of 7 (6,832 Views) Do you know what DNS address is currently set on your modem and desktop?"Automatically Detect Settings" should be fine as this will get the data from the Optus network...If you already have auto detect selected you could try using another DNS serverWhen I want to test I will usually set the Google DNS (primary: 8.8.8.8 - secondary: 8.8.4.4) Dave Reply 0 Kudos Report Inappropriate Re: DNS server not responding error Post Options Mark as New Bookmark Subscribe Subscribe to RSS Feed Highlight Print Report Inappropriate 2012-06-07 10:08 PM Posted by anitawg (New Contributor) 7th Jun 2012, 10:08pm Member since 6th Jun 2012 with 2 Posts Message 3 of 7 (6,825 Views) Thanks for your advice David. At the moment the "auto detect" option is checked and I have tried alternative DNS addresses I've found on the internet, but it hasn't worked.
