/ 0 Points 308 Level 3 Error 628 connection terminated by remote computer Hi There What causes "Error 628: Connection terminated by the remote computer before it could be completed so the port used was closed" I have been using a huawei E220 HSDPA usb modem to connect to internet but recently since I started seeing this error celcom broadband package from the modem I have failed to use it to connect to internet. I have the right settings from my service provider such as the APN, I have data on my data card. my modem has never got any physical damage, I tried to use the modem on other computer not mine alone but still the same message comes. I contacted the huawei website but I found no solution. Please help me out before I consider buying another modem. could be Completed Today while trying to access Internet, I received a message " Error 628: The Connection was Terminated by the Remote computer before it could be completed". My computer was prevented from going online. This celcom broadband promotion message window has two buttons redial and cancel. When I clicked redial button, I celcom broadband coverage received the same error message. To close the window I had to click the cancel button. I've used Optus wireless broadband for over two years now without any problems at all. I haven't moved and live inner city Brisbane – my connx has always been perfect. However, my computer was recently corrupted with a number of viruses / spyware and so I put it in to be fixed @ Albion. It came back and everything worked fine except that 2-3 days later every time I try to connect to Optus it times out at the “Authenticating” stage just won't connect. Sporadically it might surprise me (like now in order to email this) but it's not seamless like before. I plugged it in to another laptop as a test but the same thing happened (intermittent connx). Optus said the modem was broken (had the older style USB) so yesterday I bought another one
