I un-installed each NIC that didn't work and re-booted before installing the next. This all sounds like a virus that can attack any network device, as any form of network device fails on error 10. If I didn't have a few computers laying around, I couldn't make this post. I also checked all services between the computers, networking settings, group policies, BIOS settings, etc. to look for something different on the bum machine, but nothing is obvious that caused the one machine to allow a NIC to be installed, but then cannot be used. (I'm running XP-Pro, SP2) I ran "WinsockFix" to no avail, I tried the repair I found elsewhere (below), but it did nothing to help. How about You? Can You help? (Code 10)".This happened suddenly earlier today. My PC did crash but this shouldn't have killed the adapter. Anyway I've tried the following:Updated driver suggested by http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect/dsktpboards. I installed that and nothing happens. Then tried manually selecting the driver (I've tried EVERY driver with 82567LF in the name) from Window's driver list but still no luck and when using the previous link it says my driver is out of date again.Updated BIOS. http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=20863&ProdId=3261&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%207%20(64-bit)*&DownloadType=BIOS Uninstalled/reinstalled deviceDisabled/enabled deviceRan Microsoft's Fix It programNothing seems to work. Do anyone have any ideas?ThanksJames 38280Views Categories: Software & Drivers Tags: none (add) networkContent tagged with network, driverContent tagged with driver, driversContent tagged with drivers, wiredContent tagged with wired, cardContent tagged with card, windows7Content tagged with windows7 This content has been marked as final. Does Intel Desktop Utilities still show the onboard LAN as being enabled? I assume you've tried loading BIOS default values? Was there any overclocking going on at the time of this error (the golden rule should be to restore defaults whenever problems arise and see if that makes them go away)? Intels latest PROWIN64 drivers should do the trick - you can get them under downloads for networking (or is it Ethernet) hardware and the one package includes drivers for a huge range of hardware. 1 of 1 people found this helpful Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 2.
