Triple6, Sep 12, 2009 #4 Triple6 Rob Moderator Joined: Dec 26, 2002 Messages: 49,371 Are these the keys you deleted from the registry: To resolve this behavior, follow these steps: Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe). Locate the UpperFilters value under the following key in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} On the Edit menu, click Delete, and then click OK. Locate the LowerFilters value under the same key in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} Did they recreate themselves and if so what does it list for them? Triple6, Sep 12, 2009 #5 yaga Thread Starter Joined: Sep 12, 2009 Messages: 16 i deleted only upperfilters. there wasnt any lowerfilters value there in the first place. i deleted that value from 4D36E96B-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318. i didnt touch 4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318. its not there anymore so it didnt recreate itself. yaga, Sep 12, 2009 #6 yaga Thr
have ever gotten my hands on. When removing infections, or sometimes when updating the ps/2 stuff you run into an issue with a code 10 in device https://hateadub.wordpress.com/2011/04/20/code-10-device-manager-keyboard-and-mouse-not-working/ manager for the keyboard and mouse. This pretty much means you have no access to your mouse or keyboard. Bummer. This can happen on both laptops and desktops. Most people recommend an operating system install, try this first. *The fix* automatic 1. Save this into notepad and call it anything.bat and then run it, should be good to go. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 ; code 10 @ECHO OFF ; CLS ; REGEDIT.EXE /S "%~f0" ; EXIT [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E96B-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}] "UpperFilters"=hex(7):6b,00,62,00,64,00,63,00,6c,00,61,00,73,00,73,00,00,00,00,\ 00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E96F-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}] "UpperFilters"=hex(7):6d,00,6f,00,75,00,63,00,6c,00,61,00,73,00,73,00,00,00,00,\ 00 *The fix* Manual 1. Plug in a usb keyboard and mouse. (They almost always load up just fine) 2. Load into windows. (doesnt matter if its safe mode, or just regular boot) 3. Make sure you load into the administrator account. Go to the start menu (in vista this device cannot and windows 7 just start typing regedit) (for xp, go to the start menu and click run, then type regedit). Once you load up regedit find these keys and edit them. 4. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E96B-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} Look for a value titled UpperFilters, its type is REG_MULTI_SZ. If it doesn't exist, create it. Edit the value UpperFilters to read kbdclass. If there are any other line items in UpperFilters, delete them. 5. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E96F-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} Look for a value titled UpperFilters, its type is REG_MULTI_SZ. If it doesn't exist, create it. Edit the value UpperFilters to read mouclass. If there are any other line items in UpperFilters, delete them. 6. Reboot the machine and you should now have a working keyboard and mouse. *If you notice HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ has registry keys that all relate to the hardware. Key that in mind….. **Adding to the post yet again. If you cant get the keyboard to work and you have tried plugging another keyboard in with no luck, use the on screen keyboard (vista and 7) . 1. If you need to put in a password you should see a small blue icon in the left corner. Click it. It will bring u
