Conversion Error Setting Value For Null Converter Selectonemenu
Sign up {0}: Conversion error occurred (in SelectOneMenu) [duplicate] up vote 1 down vote favorite This question already has an answer here: Conversion Error setting value for 'null Converter' 1 answer I have the following problem - I have a SelectOneMenu, first item is just an information to ask the user to select item from the drop item menu and after that
Jsf Converter
are the real values. I have a Converter which work properly when i select and element from the drop down, but when the user does not select anything i jot this error {0}: Conversion error occurred. Here is the logic for selectOneMenu: This is the part from the Converter class, where it fails: public String getAsString(FacesContext context, UIComponent component, Object value) { if (value == null) { return null; } ... It event did not show me the message "Please, select item!", when no element is selected. It treats the first one, as NULL and i don't know how to get rid of it. I appreciate any help. jsf share|improve this question edited Apr 26 '14 at 17:54 Luiggi Mendoza 64.5k761132 asked Apr 26 '14 at 17:39 Tot 102115 marked as duplicate by BalusCjsf Users with the jsf badge can single-handedly close jsf questions as duplicates and reopen them as needed. JSF and other frameworks work with this type. Also, java.sql.Date extends java.util.Date but its purpose is basically for JDBC usage. But after click on the button, message above is shown. Interesting is that this code works OK with reference JSF implementation. I also tried selectOneRadio without problems. Anyways, I didn't worry about injection and outjection either, but used a simple array of Strings and the following :- xhtml:- Code: bac
