In that case the lmgrd binary will look in its own directory for MLM and start it if possible. If there is no MLM binary there, the license manager will not start. To resolve this you will need to edit the license file (license.dat) and update the DAEMON line to point to the correct path for your MLM binary. Ex:DAEMON MLM "C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2010b\etc\win32\mlm.exe"NOTE: Use double quotes around a path that contains spaces.Once updated, restart the license manager to enact the changes. 0 Comments Show all comments Log In to answer or comment on this question. The license server is running on a different PC then the client. Both client and server run on windows XP 32 SP3. When OVP is executed for the first time, everything runs well. However it cannot be run a second time since the license is not released after the first execution. I found only two ways to release the license, by restarting the server, or by flexlm command lines. I?ve tried forcing the license on TCP connexion (using configuration files), but without any luck. So to temporally bypass the problem, I created a little script to force the release of licenses that can be run from the client PC. However, for some reason, I can only run the script about 2 min or so after the execution has ended. I?m not sure what would cause the problem, but here are some things I observed: 1- When the client PC is rebooted, the license is still not released. 2- Ive Tried to run the client from different PC with windows XP 32 SP3, and I have the same problem 3- When the client runs on windows 7 32 and the server is still running on windows XP 32, the problem doesn?t occur. Has anyone else experience this with OVP flexlm floating licenses? Any ideas why this occurs or how it could be fixed? We are reviewing this ;-} However, one of the side effects of this is that licenses are not checked in, but rather they are left to time-out. Could this be the cause of your problem? I am not sure it is as this should be the same whether it is a Win-XP or Windows 7 machine on which the client is running. Can you provide the client and license server logfiles for the failing simulation?
