One of our customers upgraded and our application no longer works. Others will follow. Buying a new release of Delphi - if available - should not be the only way to upgrade. dbExpress drivers should be upgraded for supported releases whenever a new database release is available, if the current driver is not compatible. No serious company will simply recompile an application with a new Delphi release - if available and if having all required 3rd party libraries - a full test needs to be performed.
works fine but when I try and run the native Delphi drivers I get... dbExpress Error: [0x000C] Invalid Username/Password SQL Server Error: Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061) Has anybody got this going by using an updated libmysql.dll, or something? Any help is greatly appreciated. Try http://qc.embarcadero.com/wc/qcmain.aspx?d=43293 downloading the beta dbExpress driver for MySQL 4.0.xx from cc.borland.com and use that one. 2. Make sure you set the LibraryName property to 'dbexpmysql.dll' and not 'dbexpmys.dll' 3. Try a few different libmysql.dll drivers, preferrably one that ships with MySQL 4.0.x. -- Goran Skledar blog.goranskledar.com Koko13 Delphi Developer 2005-05-02 12:24:13 AM Re:dbExpress Error to MySQL Lyle, http://www.delphigroups.info/2/7/1062594.html I just went through this problem. See the post "One more dbexpress and MySQL Connection problem". Make sure you are using the libmysql.dll which is distributed with MySQL 4.0.22. It worked for me, I had a 4.1 version in my c:\windows\system32 directory and I was getting the same exact error. Good luck! Koko "Lyle Woods"

I have downloaded and installed MySQL 4.0.12 (though today I noticed that 4.0.13 is out now) and I have Delphi 7 Professional installed on a Windows 2000 machine. When I put an SQLConnection dbexpress error invalid component on a form, choose MYSQL as a driver name, enter my database name of TDM, and in HostName I've tried both 'LocalHost' and '127.0.0.1'. Then, when you look at the Object inspector, the LibraryName is: dbexpmy4.dll that I also got off the Borland site, and the VendorLib is: libmysql.dll, which I put on the C:\WINNT directory. Then, when I change the Connected property from False to True, it prompts me for a Database Login, which is good! However, after I enter my User Name and Password and hit OK, it gives me the dbExpress Error: Invalid Username/Password. I have been out to the DOS prompt and logged on to this TDM database with same user-id and password and it works fine. I've also downloaded and installed DBTools Manager Professional, and I can see all the databases, tables, etc. Again, I know this driver is beta, but is anyone out there having any luck with this? chessdr 0 Question by:chessdr Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google Best Solution bymalvadao That's because the driver that Borl
