19 Apr Ever since I upgraded to the newest version of LinuxMint I've been getting this annoying message every time I try to navigate to my shared drives: Error: DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus) Please select another viewer and try again My first instinct was to reinstall Samba, and that didn't fix the issue. I played around with the config file a bit and then gave up and forgot about it for some time. Today I ran into the same issue again and decided a more aggressive approach was necessary. Simply uninstalling it leaves behind many config files and in order to completely start over you need to purge your existing install. To do so run these commands: sudo apt-get purge samba sudo apt-get install samba sudo dpkg-reconfigure nautilus After purging my installation and starting over I was then able to browse to my network shares again. Samba not working correctly, Windows 7 stupid homegroups, etc. I still can't browse my network shares. I'm suppose to be playing around with CentOS to get familar with Linux servers, but it seems like everyting is harder to get working in Linux… problem after problem. -snevs says: November 13, 2011 at 7:18 am it still doesn't work on ios5.0.1 Go to: $ cd $HOME/.config/libimobiledevice remove all the files in the directory: $ rm -rf * plug the device back in and it should work.
