The first thing I loaded was MSN (since I'm paying for the ISP). After establishing a way to get onto the web, I went to windows updates. After searching my computer, many critical updates were found that needed to be installed. I expected that. The first critical update installed ok. The computer rebooted and I signed back on to MSN to get the next windows update. The second critical update installed, but this screen came up: Ddhelp has caused an error in GDI.exe Ddhelp will close now If this continues, try restarting your computer I hoped that having a "clean slate" would let me have a fresh start on my weblife, but alas, my first error has discouraged me.
